Doesn't matter whether it's before or after the switch completion date. Just once you do it within 30 days of the date you opened the account.

The exact same thing happened with my application — three times; once back in 2022, and twice this past month. Doesn't make sense, as I have lived at this address for 10+ years, am on the electoral register with the same details, and everything else was uploaded successfully.

A quick search shows we're not the only ones having this issue.

The nearest bank to me is too far away, so I can't be bothered going forward with this. Are Barclays dinosaurs with their application processes, and their app… (rhetorical Q)

Well I think Barclays hold the record for fines & penalties for not doing some things correctly. No doubt someone may be along with the details.

They seem awfully keen to have me as a current account holder......I do hope it's not because they think they don't have to pay me the £200 switch bonus. Only 4 days since I applied to switch and I've had 4 emails, 1 letter and 1 phone text already. I do hope having an account with Barclays won't mean I'll get swamped with messages !

I don't understand.

I opened my account thru the Barclays app on 12/5, transferred £10 into it ok, logged on the next day and transferred £5 to my Santander account all ok. Waiting for switch completion & my Barclays card. None of that seems to be a problem, the app works ok, so far, so good.

Had the text this morning saying i've met the requirements, payment will be made within 10 days.
