Nationwide New Look

I'm using Chrome, and I can download statements in the new look.. How ever I just tested Firefox, and all I get is a blinking screen, but no download

Just visited Nationwide internet banking site which has been most useful for my needs for 20+ years - OMG what have they done - what is an unmitigated disaster - totally unusable (perhaps that's the ploy) - what benighted halfwit lashed this together - (one can only assume someone who doesn't use a banking facility) - So I switched back to the old layout with the link provided - & they've even been messing around with the old layout . Frankly this is a really good way of losing clients. It's pursuing the unusable by the uneducated IMHO

Just visited the site this morning after having read your comment - OMG what a totally unusable piece of dross - can't imagine who lashed that together - after 20+ years I shan't be using it any more, and will probably take my money elsewhere, where I can see a proper statement !

I noticed that. For example, there was a link for viewing the 'activity summary' on the main account list page. That's gone on the new 'old layout' and you have to dig around in the menus to find it.
It seems the aim is to achive a 'clean look' by hiding everything which is useful, other than the most basic of functions.

The change is drastic and very confusing for us as credits and debits are not in their separate columns. We have not and will not have any banking apps on our mobile phones. I cannot understand how this can be an improvement? Again the banter about listening to feedback is why they changed it. How many and who did they consult? Themselves?

As mentioned upthread, Lloyds, Halifax and BoS' browser based banking show columns for debits and credits.

If the aim is to make it look like the app, it could at least offer the useful "pending payments" of the app.
This seems like change for the sake of it, not a thought out improvement

I doubt it's for the sake of it. By making it very similar to the app the aim is probably to minimise the effort involved in managing two different interfaces. Lloyds' browser based banking will show pending debit card payments in browser based banking so this could be the first step to Nationwide doing the same.

I had no problem downloading statements using the 'new look'. Up to date Firefox on Linux Mint.
Perhaps the program has been tweaked since you tried.

Yes, I have tried again and it now works.
