Nationwide New Look

Not that I ever download statements on Nationwide but I was able to download one using an up-to-date Firefox on Mac OS Sonoma.
I can only guess some people are experiencing teething issues which is not unheard on a new platform. I have seen a few formatting issues but nothing that affects usability.1 -
I can't stand the new look. Not separating out debits and credits into separate columns makes it really confusing and lots of useful features now buried. They didn't consult me - if they had, I'd have told them I don't want something whizzy and clean looking'. I want something, clear, easy to use and with nothing hidden; and to not waste money redesigning something that works perfectly well!

I've been with Nationwide since it was known as the Anglia BS. a long time ago.
Up until very recently i have had no reason to jump ship despite losing the local branch. The nearest is now 26 miles away. What was a smooth banking site has transformed into a clanking old banger.
I've found I can no longer switch back to the old, much better, neater layout. The accounts page is too big for even my 27inch screen. I need to scroll to see everything. Not so with older layout. This is a prime case of, "if it ain't broke don't try and fix it"
If I want to pay someone in the payee list I have to identify myself every time, despite doing that when logging on seconds earlier. For 'security reasons' apparently. If I had 'stolen' my card and reader to log on, I still have a 'stolen' card in my hand to make the next action. What's that all about? Before I can proceed I have to verify all my accounts. It took thirteen minutes including a screen freeze, to make one payment last week. A task that used to be completed in well under a minute.
Nationwide have not been contactable within the account for some time now as they have this, less than useless, AI nonsense. Eventually, I might get to a human being (possibly) to ask my question. With the older and again much more efficient system I could compose my internal email, send it. get on with life and wait for the reply.; usually a day or two. They have no stand alone email address. Important stuff needs a letter and a stamp.
I have logged a complaint and expect (hope) to hear back before the autumn

There are loads of banks around, if you don't like Nationwide then just try somewhere else.

What a backward step by nationwide. I tried to use the new format but each time hit the button to revert back as the new layout is so user unfriendly. So much so that as soon as the revvert back is no longer there I will start looking elsewhere to bank.

I have tried lots of other forums and have moved around various times for different reasons and use different forums for different purposes.
Switching banks is a trivial task and you can have numerous accounts if you wish, if someone expresses an opinion about not liking something then why shouldn't I express my opinion on a simple solution that might help them?

Hello my friends.
Stoodles ☺️ is absolutely right about Nationwide's new look browser banking.
A simple question: How do you present financial information - using a word processor or in a spreadsheet? Answer: spreadsheet, of course.
I'm sorry Nationwide, but the new look suggests a lack of knowledge of finance - not something I want associated with my favourite building society. The new format might be fine for app users (using the app) who are accustomed to endless scrolling, but I, and it looks like many others, want all the required financial information neatly set out in financial format. The internet is a different place, where you want to get to important details with a snack of the fingers.
If one of my students presented financial information to me in the format of this new look, I would suggest that they choose a different course to study.
I understand the efficiency of using the same format for two different environments, but if it pushes customers to leave (as has been suggested here), then it is a false economy. Maybe the developer doesn't know how to code in financial format (there are plenty of college students who can do it, and would be glad of the work experience).
Please, Nationwide, if you won't change back to the old look, then perhaps keep the toggle switch permanently. The first thing I do when I log in is switch back to the old look, so I can effectively use the information I logged in for. The last thing I want is to be repeatedly scrolling up and down the page trying to remember how much I've got where.
If someone submitted their business accounts to HMRC in this new look 'mosh', I would expect HMRC to send it straight back and tell them to put their hand in their pocket and pay for an accountant.
I have worked hard for my money, please treat it with respect.

Well said, well done. Their new format is just plain dreadful.
I intend to mention this retrograde move with my local branch manager.

If I want the app layout with big text and lots of space - then I will simply use the app. However, if like lots of you here I want a more traditional THREE Column layout Credit Debit Balance (and in my mind easier to understand and glance over to see if all is okay) then I want to be able to use the web online format on my laptop (or tablet even).
Its a very backward step no doubt prompted by their takever of Virgin Money which when I last looked had a very expansive look (my tern for NOT CONCISE) Big text and lots of White Space.
Awful.
If they don't keep allowing us to switch back to the old look then after 30 plus years with them and online banking since the time you dialled up with a modem I will be moving elsewhere - maybe just leave a few pennies in the account in case they see sense and
