Just chatted with them on online chat, currently 8months into a contract with Now 75Mbps for £23 going to £26 from April as per letter.

Explained my needs and had an email through from Sky whist the agent was typing. It was offering Sky 150Mbps for £22 a month, price may go up in future etc.

The agent said the price was £25 a month as the price would go up in April by £3, despite the email saying £22. All felt very shady, I've left a complaint and will probably leave Sky/Now as cheaper options with rewards are out there.

I'm fairly certain that if you take out a Sky BB sub this month that there won't be an April rise.

Because Sky and Now are such bastions of customer service...

NowTV may well be part of the Sky group but your cancellation of the NowTV BB will go down as a negative stat for the agent you were communicating with. Ask Sky themselves, but if you've already decided you don't believe them then I guess there's plenty of other suppliers.

  • From Sky.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the recent price increase notification. We are sorry to hear that this causes you some concern.

I'm very sorry for any confusion and frustration this has caused.

I completely understand how disappointing it must be to receive a new offer for Sky Full Fibre 150 at £22 per month, only to be told shortly after that the price would actually be £25 due to a price increase.

We always aim to be clear and transparent with our pricing, so I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We understand that things are tough right now, and so alongside investing in the next generation of Sky by offering unbeatable entertainment, smarter digital support and even stronger product performance, we're committed to keeping prices as low as we can.

The details of your price adjustment will be reflected in your first bill on or after April 1st. For clarity, the current cost of your Sky subscription is (£23) per month.

After the 1st April, your cost will be (£26) [until any offers come to an end].

We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our services but if you’re unhappy with these changes you can visit www.sky.com/changes or call us on 03448 244450 to discuss your package or cancel your subscription.

If you’re within your minimum contract period, call us within 30 days of receiving your price change notification to avoid early termination charges.

If you recently joined Sky TV or signed up to a new minimum term, the price change won't apply to those services for the first 60 days.

Fair enough, I had an idea they didn't do that (or they've changed it perhaps).

    What's the recommended process for moving. I'm thinking;

    1. Give sky notice (30 days?) that you are leaving due to price hikes (confirm no cancellation charge)
    2. Sign up with new provider. Request activation date of 29 days time? Let the new provider arrange cancellation using "One-Touch Switch"

    Is this a good plan?

You don't need to set a date for moving over, just tell them why you're leaving and use the OTS system to switch to the new supplier.

I appear to behaving the same issue.Trying to cancel broadband and stream tv mid term after price rises. I bought broadband and stream at the same time and they tell me that they are two separate contracts and i can only leave broadband penalty free. Mentioned the article and they said it was not sky policy and i would be charged for cancellation of stream. Any idea where we go from here?
