I am having exactly the same problem as anna42hmr.
1. They say they attempted delivery last Friday which they didn't there were 2 people at home one of whom was in the living room at all times which is right near the front door(that why we both were at home), they left the card on the doorstep outside and we only saw it when we went to leave the house at 8pm after waiting in all day. Rang them and they basically called me a liar, when I asked for a redelivery they said they couldn't do it on Saturday only Monday, I explained nobody was in on Monday and they told me to go and pick it up (its at least an hours drive away so at least a 2 hour round trip - since I paid for delivery I don't flipping think so!) they finally agree to deliver to my mum on Monday.
2. Monday comes and they attempt delivery at my house, not mums. She waits in all day. Get home and have got a card so ring them and ask whats going on. They say it was never going to be delivered on Tuesday, it will be Wednesday - would be fine but mum going away for a week! I ask what I am supposed to do! They suggest a. I cancel the order and give up (what!! I want the item thats the whole point!) b. I have it delivered to my mums neighbour (I don't know them), c. I have it delvered to my neighbour (the ones next door work same hours as me and I don't know any others) then they offer to deliver on Saturday!! After being told they don't do Saturday deliver I am baffled but agree to it.
So here's hoping it comes on Saturday... I won't hold my breath.0 -
my dvd player arrived today, all i can say is its a good job that amazon packed it in a bigger box than it needed with packing around it, else god know what state the dvd would have been in as the box was bashed to peices!
ridiculously though, despite me emailing amazon about the service from hdnl, the other parcel i had on order with amazon has been dispatched today from amazons ware house, and guess which courier they have instructed to deliver it! so it sounds like i will be having round 2 again in the next couple of days!MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Update, they (HDNL) obviously do have some arrangement with RM, as my M&S order was at the sorting office awaiting collection. Still doesn't reckon with HDNL track service which said it was delivered though! Hey I got my order - good luck to the rest of you still waiting!0

I am off work today because I am ill, and for some very odd reason my bin was just delivered to me. It was never supposed to be delivered today and it is only by chance that I am actually here because I could not make it in to work. I had expressely told them that I am out of the house during working hours and they agreed to deliver on Saturday and had not contacted me to say it would be attempted today after we agreed Saturday. I called amazon and they said they had contacted HDNL and asked them to telephone me yesterday (which they didn't). The guy didn't even knock on the door, he stood outside and I saw him from the living room window so went and opened the door. It all seems very odd! I just have to work up the strength to try and open the package now as there is more tape on it than box!0

theres no arrangement as such for any courier to put items in rm's system for collection only.
did you query this with RM? as it should still have had an attempted delivery via RM for the pathetic sum paid under downstream access0 -
Oh well that's weird then! My OH picked up the package so he won't have asked. At least I got my stuff which is better than some have experienced. Plus we have a fab postie, and our RM sorting office is always pretty good, not that explains how an HDNL package went via RM, unless he went the extra mile..... I'll ask him next time I see him.0

This is now the third day i've been waiting to get my order from amazon/hdnl.
i sent amazon an e-mail yesterday and they sent me back "we have initiated an official enquiry into the whereabouts of your package with HDNL".
it's not rocket science, put parcel onto van and deliver it to address written on parcel.
but from looking at the tracking info on amazon they have decided to give my parcel a trip around the uk's many different parcel depot's,and now it's current location is about 10-15 miles away from my house.
after reading about so many peoples problems with this company all over the internet,i'm genuinely surprised how they have managed to stay in business.
well if hdnl can't manage to send my parcel on the periless journey from rochdale to manchester before the weekend has finished i will cancel my order and get my money back.
and i doubt i'll order anything from amazon again.0 -

If they offload on your doorstep, there problem solved (and yours just started!)
Crap. We are a delivery company. Doorstepping is not an official delivery method. We cannot go out with every driver to see what they are doing we can only deal with them from the feedback we get.
It affects us all if lots of parcels come back as this is when agency use is then needed and that seems to be where most of MSE's problems lie.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
Oh the OH has got a RM card to collect something for him and one for me tomorrow, so could that be it? Does HDNL use RM as a drop/delivery service?
Not to my knowledge.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
I had two bad experiences with HDS, on the first occasion they left the parcel in front of a public building, and the second one never arrived at all. They tried to say they had left it with the warden on duty, a) we do not have a warden and b) the SHO's are not allowed to take in parcels for any of the tenants.......eventually the company wrote off the goods, I no longer wanted them...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
