On a plus side though, if it is damaged or doesn't turn up Amazon are good at refunding payments. I think they must have the non signed for contract with HDN and if this is the case Amazon must be resondsible non delivery etc...
Luckily for me I have a coal store so if the driver has any brains which looking at the forums could well be debatable they could put it in there or leave it with a neighbour.
I just hope it actually turns up on Monday cause if it don't Amazon are going to get it in the neck.0 -
Wonder what would happen if they did leave it on your doorstep and it got nicked? Who would then be responsible, as technically you haven't received the goods?0

It would depend on Amazon's contract with HDNL. We use them as our courier at work and we have the cheapest, uninsured option with them. If they leave a parcel on the doorstep (or anywhere else) or damage it, we're responsible for the replacement and the associated costs.0

I had a load of deliveries from them before Xmas. They did a smashing job - i.e. they found my house and left on doorstep when there was nobody in. Yes some of the packages contained high price items BUT my doorstep is very secure - any opportunist would have needed to walk down my drive before seeing the stuff. Also there is no pavement outside our house just a service road.
Businesspost -now there's another matter - couldn't find our house even after being given full directions, description and contact phone numbers.
TBH the only person other than the postman and delivery drivers who comes down the drive is the chairman of the parish council - delivering the village newsletter. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
I love my HDN delivery man he's always on time and cheerful and found my flat which a lot of other companies failed to do I think I amuse him with how much I order!
Mine's great too, you could set your watch by him. he turns up at 4.30-4.35 which is great because I know I can go out on the day of an expected delivery because he wouldn't deliver any earlier than that

I found some drivers to be great and others to be less then any good.
I've had a couple of bad cases this year, including leaving a box over our 6 foot gate in the rain with no card, so the clothes inside were soaking and were returned immediately to the company.
The worst case of throwing over the 6 foot gate, was a box, clearly labeled "Fragile Hand with care" allover. It was alwso clearly marked as from Whittards China! Whilst nothing was immediately broken, I have found the items in that delivery have chipped after their first use and have had to contact Whittards for replacementSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

We had something that was said to have been left in our garden, it wasn't there even though HDN said they had left it. We contacted Amazon and they didn't argue it at all, they just refunded our money straight back to us!0 -
I had a bad experience from hdn. They left the parcel with a 'neighbour' the house is 4 doors away on the opposite side of the road. It is a dodgy area and i dont even know these people as they do not 'mix' with other neighbours. HDN also did not leave a card to say that they had been either. If they had not knocked on my door i would never have known that the parcel had arrived!
I have known of them to leave parcels next to the bin?0 -
I work for a company who had a contract with HDN though they changed back to parcel force...too many complaints saying that in York i have had no problems at all.
I've got some good drivers that work for me at HDN that deliver in York, they will be pleased.
:T**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0
