I had a bad experience from hdn. They left the parcel with a 'neighbour' the house is 4 doors away on the opposite side of the road. It is a dodgy area and i dont even know these people as they do not 'mix' with other neighbours. HDN also did not leave a card to say that they had been either. If they had not knocked on my door i would never have known that the parcel had arrived!
I have known of them to leave parcels next to the bin?

Not that dodgy if some kind person has walked accross the road and brought your delivery to you.

I didnt say that they were dodgy i appreciated it very much, the AREA is dodgy.

The point is the fact that hdn did not leave a card, i did not know where the parcel was.
  • Ive had awful experience from HDNL. They didnt leave a card and lied about attempting to deliver since I was in on both days when they said that they tried to delivered it. I hate being lied to. They just didnt bother delivering my package.
A friend of mine even had their new guitar left in their wheely bin by HDNL. Lazy and useless.
Its a shame as well as Im sure there are some good delivery people out there.
Their customer services suck as well. They couldnt even give me the number of my local depot. Had to get from say no to 0870 website.
  • hdn are really bad. Ive had loads of bad incidents with them.
last year before i moved the guy used to throw my goods over the fence and did not even bother to ring the bell when i was in and never left a card. so any thing fragile used to end up broken on the concrete yard. after i moved the new delivery guy would not leave the parcel with the other people i live with. one day he left a parcel without ringing the bell by the bin on bin day. so when the dustman came to empty the bin the parcel whent with them.
i once caught him and asked about a parcel which should have cme that day. he was delering across the street, he said he could not be bothered to del the parcel the day before when it was on his van and it was now in the depo to go back wiothout a seconed attept dealery. this guy has now left due to management concerns. this ive been told by the new person who is brill. leaves the goods with the peole i live with

I ordered a printer from Tesco Direct, and it was supposed to have been delivered 3rd Jan. Waited all day for it, nothing. Waited all day again 4th Jan, nothing. Kept ringing and they gave me the number for HDN. Rang HDN, they said drivers kept running out of time. Then lied and said they attempted delivery and left a card. I've not stepped out of the house all day for 2 days and been chking the post box. No card, No bell No nothing. Then told me to wait again today. Absolute rubbish.
THE PARCEL COMPANIES ARE EXPERT'S AT MAKING EXCUSES, THEY ARE TELLING YOU THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED THE DELIVERY TO PROTECT THEIR QUALITY OF SERVICE, BEST TO COMPLAIN TO TESCO & GET THEM TO CHASE IT UP, THEN YOU MIGHT GET A RESULT.

ive heard RM are about to crack down on 'doorstepping' which is rm speak for leaving packages anywhere bar a straight delivery.
so if you want items handled in this way you need ot put it in writing to the delivery office.

this is RM's proposal to sellers which seems like a good idea

Well, I think the only way to stop them 'doorstepping' is for us all to say they have been nicked from now on - serve them right!

hold your holrses.plenty of customers are grateful for items being doorstepped etc
this is part of the problem and ive posted on this before.i get people complaining when drivers do/do not doorstep depending on how it suits the customer.
  • Does anyone have a clue what the status of this tracking means?

Date Depot Action Reason 02/01/2008 07:30:58 Wembley Depot Loaded onto vehicle
    02/01/2008 14:08:06 Wembley Depot Received
02/01/2008 14:08:56 Wembley Depot Unable to Deliver Carded

No attempted delivery was made, no card was left.
They were expensive goods as well
