I've discovered what's causing the technical issue
The short answer is that it was the way I was pasting tables into p1 of this thread, which itself was a workaround to another bug, the bug was fixed, which seems to've caused another few issues
What it means in practice is I cannot now edit the Local/loyal/beta/existing customer only post on p1 of this thread and the table looks bizarre (see p1 of this thread).
I'm probably going to have to delete the post at some point, fortunately the first 3 posts on the following page were mine anyway so p1 can be restored with a bit of a shuffle around.
I've created a thread on the report the technical issue so feel free to experiment/discuss in there:

Tembo RS - has anyone used HSBC current account as the "linked" account to pay into Tembo.
When I try to make a payment HSBC wants me to generate a "security code" using the physical fob (I don't use the HSBC app) and as part of that it wants the last four digits of the account you are paying into, which is the Tembo RS account.
Well my Tembo RS profile shows last four character of the "account" has letters in it as well as numbers, there is no way to enter letters into HSBC fob.
EDIT - I tried and failed to use the last 4 digits of Tembo own bank account, thought it might work like a building society clearing bank, but using that still generates an invalid HSBC security code. So have given up trying to use HSBC before I lock myself out, linked a different providers current account instead and it worked first time, 250 quid now deposited.

I won't be bothering with Tembo, no point even keeping a foot in the door if all the good stuff only goes to new customers.

So install the HSBC app. And if having it installed offends you in some way, delete it after you've used it.
What happens if you just enter '0000' into the fob as the required account number?

I am fairly sure the app won't help, the HSBC algorithm that generates the security number explicitly says enter the last 4 digits of the account number.

It seems that monthly contributions are pending for 1/2 days. Does that mean they are not earning interest during that time?

If you earlier signed up as a new customer with their HomeSaver, remember that part of your interest is the "Introductory Rate" that you have to keep the account open for, to get after 12 months. I've taken my balance down to the minimum, but am keeping it open to get the Introductory Rate on the months when I had a significant balance in it.

It isn’t, the bonus is lost if you close the account before it is paid.

Tembo
I'm only keeping Tembo because they have a refer-a-friend offer, by keeping a foot in the door I get some money out of that.
A reminder that this forum must not be used for exchanging/requesting referral links, if anyone messages me asking for a link I shall decline.
