Obviously they are only interested in maximising their customer base, rather than hang on to their existing customers, you can only seem to benefit once from any offers, and then that's it. I've still got money in the HomeSaver account, which will be moved March/April next year when bonus received, so can only get 3% on RS. Think it's safe to say I won't be applying. Thought that Principality Christmas Saver offer was poor, it's been outdone by a long mark.

I think their priority is getting customers to then get them to use their mortgage services. It's disappointing that there's such a discrepancy for existing customers.

    Tembo RS

I am trying to make my first payment into the account from my Lloyds (ex Halifax) current account but keep getting “oops an error occurred” message. There is sufficient funds in the account to cover the amount.

Anyone else having issues with Lloyds?

edit: it has worked now 😊

I'm excluded from the Tembo offer as I had a LISA and ISA with them, now closed. I liked how they offered a good rate without messing around with "newbie bonuses" like other similar fintechs... however they're clearly now going down that route to pull in more customers.

I'm sure someone will try different ways to get a the regular saver under a new profile or something. I'm not going to waste my time with that (unless anyone's found a way that works! However might be a bit risky as the bonus is paid at the end of the term so if they discover your multiple profiles and merge them you may be left with a measly 3%) I'll just keep my fingers crossed that more 8% accounts are goinv to join the party soon...

    Tembo

Having read the Summary Box, it seems (reasonably) straightforward. However, I still have a feeling of "where's the catch ?".

Tempted to fully fund it and then withdraw everything (or leave a quid in it) once the Bonus has been paid.

Might be tricky, I'll happily create 2 or 3 persona to get a free TV streaming trial but regulated financial products where they need your 'official' name and your NI number? Not so much.

There are two things which spring to my mind which could cause this kind of scenario - either you are running a script or ad blocker extension (extensions are blocked when incognito) or dodgy cookies. If you go to your list of cookies, filter by progressive, and delete those progressive cookies, it may help

    ProgBS

…or if you normally use Chrome, use Edge just for access to ProgBS (or vice versa or Firefox or whatever).

Tembo RS -- I think the app signed me up for the Tembo RS without me actually indicating my agreement to the account's terms & conditions, lol. Yesterday I downloaded the Tembo app, entered my email address etc., and got to the screen where it shows the details of the RS / links to the summary box and terms & conditions PDFs. I don't remember clicking a button on that screen to continue in the application process from there (or ticking any boxes to agree to any terms) - as far as I remember, from that screen, I just tapped on the buttons to open the summary box/terms PDFs.

I must have then closed the Tembo app at some point. When opening it again at a later time, I was taken straight to a screen for entering my date of birth. Weird, I thought (why wasn't it just taking me back to the same 'available savings accounts' screen that it was showing before?), but I entered the details it asked for - probably (for at least one reason) as there didn't seem to be any way to go back to the 'available accounts' screen from the DOB-entering screen that the app was opening to.

Anyway, after entering the details the app was asking for, I then got taken to a screen labeled 'Setup complete', and saying that I could now setup a deposit to the regular saver. So I'm fairly sure that the Tembo app must have opened this account for me without me having indicated agreement to the terms… eek!

Tembo RS - So am I right that the 5% bonus is only for the first 12 months and this being a 24 month a/c it’s a case of just withdrawing and binning at the end of the first year?
