Darlington RS
I never bother with COP. I always copy and paste the sort code, bank account, and reference numbers into the new payment. That way you are sure the payment is correct.
Don't bother with a £1 test payment and I wouldn't delay any longer.
My payments always fail COP as I call the payee "Darlington 4" or some such to allow me to easily recognise making further payments

Thank you to everyone as ever on this forum for helpful replies. Have done debit card payments and will monitor then hopefully do another deposit tomorrow then monthly to 1st nov 27. Any other suggestions for under the radar sub 6% rs accounts allowing some access , which I could use as a temporary home dor some funds for now? At the moment accumulated funds are growing in zopa at 4.45% which is not ideal

Virgin Money Regular Saver Exclusive Issue 7 at 6.5%
Worth noting that for the previous 6 issues the account has gone NLA at the end of the month of launch therefore if you wish to open this account, it's probably worth doing so sooner rather than later.

Got those already and I think am pushing my luck already having 6 cahoot sunny days!. So I'm thinking more it's only sub 6% regular savers left of which the Darlington was my first one.

Coventry went NLA earlier this week I believe, Suffolk's Online Fixed RS (5%) allows early closure, as does Skipton’s (5.75%, base rate linked) if you qualify. Manchester/Newcastle RS2’s if you are near a branch (5.75%.)
Edited to add that Manchester’s RS1 is still available in branch and you can have both. £500 per month, 5.4%, 2 years.1 -
Depends what you have already Monmouthshire RS 6% £500 per month, then a couple are postal / branch / postcode area restricted. Market Harbourgh branch application and then online for example.

Also worth bearing in mind that Skipton's RSs allow you to catch up on unused deposits in future months, thus something to consider if you know you're going to have a surplus of funds from maturing RSs in a particular month, is opening the Skipton RS with £1 and setting the maturity date to the end of the following month to give yourself £2,749 of additional RS capacity in the month you'll be swamped with funds.

Therefore if OP doesn’t qualify, it may be worth them opening an Access Account with £1 today so as to qualify for the RS at the end of October (30 days membership required.)
