Yes, it's done this for years. You'll be able to open a new one tomorrow.

Santander
Thanks for the replies. I put £200 in both straight away, but then panicked and withdrew one lot. I am going for the switching bonus which requires money to be paid into a RS as part of the conditions. I am concerned that this will involve someone actually checking my RS and so there is more chance of it getting spotted. AI also worried me by basically saying the second account would be backdated to 1% interest, all my money would be frozen while I was investigated for fraud and I would be blacklisted by Santander for life (Or something to that effect!) 🤣
I think I will wait until after the switch is all done and dusted and then if the second one is still there I will start funding it again.

So I guess for future reference this makes the Nationwide one a slightly risky one to refresh?

Hi Guys I agree the New Halifax RS paying 8% AER has a fixed rate. I just recheck it the one I posted previously came from Everyday Saver, not from regular Saver. I have deleted my original post. Sorry for causing confusion.

You can open a new one tomorrow. Nationwide takes one day to close the reg saver and clear it from their system.

I think that means people who save regularly. The OLD one pays 8%. The NEW Halifax Regular Saver pays 5%
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Halifax annoyingly put the T&Cs for the Everyday Saver on the same page, even though nobody applying for the Regular Saver is remotely interested in it. It's eaay to pick up the wrong info re. withdrawals, fixed rate, etc.
