You can call or message them to close the account, don't mention anything about renewal.

You can open a new one 24 hours later.

Several of us did this earlier in the year fine.

Thanks. The problem is that in 24 hours the rate is expected to be much lower.

Just did my wife and my halilfax and lloyds about 10 mins ago. Bos too much hassle and probably too late

It only brings up accounts that apply to you and as you already hold a regular saver it won't be on the list

Halifax, Lloyds and BoS

All three websites have been updated, 8% RS's removed and lower rates now applicable.

Worth mentioning that the Club Lloyds offer is now less generous than it was before the rise to 8%. Only £250 a month not £400, and it looks like you're not able to hold the Club/non-Club accounts together.

I kept both my Club Lloyds (£400 pm) and Lloyds (£250 pm) RS's at the old fixed rates (6.25% and 5.25%) when the 8% one appeared, rather than swapping for a single 8%/£250 pm one. Both run until April 2027.

I refreshed my 8% Halifax RS a few days ago but didn't refresh my 8% Bank of Scotland one, but it only started in July.

It seems that if you have any Lloyds 8% RS - now NLA - you can't open the new 6.25%.

Quick Tipton question…

Does anyone remember whether submitting details of your nominated account was part of the application process or did you have to do it later once the account was opened?

I applied via the app as a new customer. Only received confirmation that my account was open yesterday and can now fund it (only via nominated account) but I'm waiting for the code in the post in order to access the app.
