Yes, you could close all existing Lloyds RS and open a new 8% one today if you wished.

Personally, having bagged all three 8%'s in July, I'll let these run their course as I think interest rates will be generally higher next year.

thanks for that - i've got Halfax & BoS 8%, but already had existing 2 x Lloyds, so never bothered with their 8%… i'll leave it as is and see if now that they're back to their standard rates, whether I can renew both as normal next month.

I decided to renew 2 of my LBG regular savers today; Halifax due to the potential to go NLA in the near future, and Lloyds after I spotted the apparently imminent drop in rates. I'll leave the BoS one alone since I only renewed it in July and it was less straightforward due to having to contact Customer Services. I wonder whether the Halifax one will be pulled tomorrow to be replaced with, well, nothing… 🤔

Well, lunchtime on Monday, here is my experience of RS-land so far this week. Sorry, too many items in one post.

Yorkshire BS (YBS) 50 pound regular esaver matured on the weekend. Left £1 in the easy access saver reward account (3.70%) and rest to nominated. Not keen on their current loyalty RS (4.85%)

Scottish BS RS maturity instructions arrived today by e-mail. Don't have online access so will need to phone them. Unsure if I want to retain membership.

Progressive BS Rainy Day RS issue 4 maturity instructions by e-mail. Already got the new RS last week.

Darlington BS When RS issue 2 matured I opened issue 3 (4.75%) with tiny balance as it was better than other accounts for maintaining membership and it is accessible. Opened and funded issue 3 today. Funds not yet appeared online. Terms don't appear to exclude both issues. I note that issue 4 can be funded 15 times by maturity on 30 Nov 2027.

Tipton BS Save and Grow No news of the application form and cheque sent 2nd class on 8th for branch / postal version.

Halifax I spent some time trying to see if there is a way to renew when you only have Lloyds and BoS logins. Has anyone succeeded?

I wouldn’t normally but as I have far too much maturing in the next four weeks or so (Melton, Progressive, Hanley, Principality Christmas and Scottish, not all fully funded thankfully) I will also be opening this Darlington account. October will be worse than the mass Monmouthshire maturity in some regards as although the total sum is lower, September’s allowances are already taken. Skipton Member EA will end up having to keep some of it until November, so as this Darlington account beats it by 1%, it’ll do. Although I fully expect to use the withdrawals and then close it before the term is up, which won’t be a problem as I kept the maturity account from my Issue 2 for £1 to maintain my login/membership.

Worth noting that this issue is 12 months from opening, unlike Issue 2 which was at the end of the month 12 months from opening.
