I was surprised being asked for picture of my ID and selfie, they already have me ID-ed since July 2025. They didn't asked me for ID when I applied for my second (issue 3) RS with them… I've done what was asked anyway, but the ID check failed. However, the new account was opened and showed almost immediately. So it looks like ID failure was a false alarm.

Progressive refreshing…
Yes, sounds like it would be possible to close and re-open within 14 days. I've never tried to close an account with Progressive before, so I don't know how long it takes for the account to disappear off the system - if it's a slow process then you could end up being pushed into October, or worse still, the account going NLA before you have a chance to re-open.
As I've said previously I can't be bothered messing around too much with late-in-the-month maturities, but others might want to take advantage.

Not wishing to add to your workload @Bridlington1 but is it worth tracking on the 'no chat' tables whether accounts have any opening restrictions under the special conditions, e.g. Bucks issue 2 cannot be opened if you have issue 1? Appreciate this is a minor point and is usually picked up straight away on the main thread.
Going further, is it worth linking to the first post on this thread that mentions that product? That way someone might have a better chance of finding relevant posts in this thread about, say, how to open the account, or how new/existing customers were able to apply for it. Although I guess this is almost already covered by the launch date - this forum is usually quite eagle-eyed and in many cases are aware of products before they are launched!

Penrith BS Survey - Opportunity to suggest 150th anniversary RS in 2027
Received an email from Penrith BS today, asking :
'As we look ahead, 2027 marks a very special milestone as Penrith Building Society celebrates 150 years of serving our members and communities. We'd love to hear your ideas on how we should celebrate this landmark anniversary. '
If you are a member of Penrith BS and maybe if you're not, perhaps this would be a good opportunity to suggest a special RS to celebrate, for good "savings reasons", as many other BS have done also.
