I'm going to refresh towards the end of this month in case it goes NLA at some point in October. If i do this on 28th September (ish) then I'll have £500 in it by 2nd October, so nearly back where I am now, and if it is still available in late October i can just do it again.

Not planning on it, we don't know what other accounts may launch in October making it no better as a maturity date than the Summer. If it backfires you risk losing 9/10 months at 8% to gain 2/3.

Halifax
I refreshed mine towards the end of August. I guess it will still be possible to refresh up until the app and online access disappearing at the end of October, but there's no guarantees it'll still work. The RS could be withdrawn before that.
I guess to eke out the maximum possible interest from your regular savers you'd want to push your maturity as late as possible, but for me anyway I wouldn't risk it for just a couple of extra months. As @Kim_13 says you could potentially lose a lot for a relatively small gain.

I dont see it as risky. From discussions on here, it has always been possible to renew Halifax RS easily. I can't see them bothering to pull the RS in the next few weeks when they can just let them naturally become unavailable from the end of October. I will do a quick check on the day to confirm it is still being adverised before going ahead.
It will extend the 8% for me for another 3.5 months, and this time I will open it nearer the end of the month and so get £500 into the account within days. For me an end of October maturity is vastly favourable as I have about half my current RSs maturing in June/July.

Can you have both Lloyd's and Halifax RS without issue? I opened Lloyd's 8% earlier this month.

Yes you can and bank of Scotland if you have a current account with them.

But you can only open a Halifax account if you have a working Halifax log in

Tipton -I finally got a message this afternoon to say the app based Save and Grow I opened on Monday night was live. Worryingly the payment I sent on Tuesday morning has not been attached yet so I've asked them about this.
The message also said I can only have one Save and Grow but it did not specify which version - app or branch. I emailed forms both for myself and my OH for the branch based one on Tuesday - OH does not have the app. After I sent off the forms I tried to download the app for OH and after the OTP comes through I got to the page for opening accounts and no further ….hopefully it will sort itself out eventually next week …
I had to do a password rest for mimecast - the app does need a password so I've not got one noted down.
Halifax - dithering about doing another account refresh as the account only has £500 in it so 2 months worth … I am still using the Halifax website to log in, never had the Halifax app but by the end of October I will have to use the LLoyds website and just lump it.
Zopa - if someone opens a new account now do they get the option to open the regular saver. Zopa have a double referral code offer for £20 at the moment but the person i want to send it to is interested also in the regular saver and she wants to know if new customers can open one now.
