Earl Shilton

Just had a payment returned from Earl Shilton, probably because I've been paying into it using my Santander instead of my Nominated account since the first payment.

Just checked my Earl Shilton and the balance is still £1000 and not £500.

Do Earl Shilton update in real time or does it update once every 24hrs like Monmonthshire?

I've made my second deposit yesterday 1st September from a different account and it is showing today dated 1st September. My nominated account is FD, the account I used for yesterday's deposit was Cahoot. Payment wasn't returned.

I think it must be in the terms and conditions though, otherwise I wouldn't have included it in the list I am maintaining

in my case, I made 1st payment 17/8 using non nominated (Santander). Payment showed next day so happy and not signed in online until today. Today I noticed a message dated 27/8 informing me that 1st payment was not from nominated bearing in mind I had already made my 2nd payment from same non nominated account yesterday.

Checked my Santander and noticed £500 returned. Not sure if it's for 1st (Aug) or 2nd (Sept) payment.

Balance online @ Earl is still £1000.

I think the first payment must come from your nominated.

Yes, same boat. Trying to contact them by phone, been 1st in queue for a while.

Edit : colleague has said to wait till Friday then call back if nothing comes through.

As far as I can remember the first payment must be made from nominated account, subsequent payments can be made from any account. So your returned payment must have been the August one. You can check it in your Santander account (i.e. what date it was returned).
