There's some confusion and talking at cross-purposes here.

Cahoot doesn't have an app - your earlier comment (at 5.19PM on 5th Aug) quoted @friolento, who was in turn answering a question about Cahoot.

I suspect that your comments are actually about Zopa, which does have an app that has had a major update in the past week.

    Zopa

Many thanks, MaxBlax. Opened and funded. Spend and Benefits are the operative tabs. But who would know that?

    Teachers BS

Looks like you got lucky, I received an email yesterday for my deposit on Monday and they have said they are returning the funds to me due to being unable to allocate it. I have been using the REG number (which worked last month and did not get any notification of an issue, though I did miss a call from them), I forgot about needing to update it on the payee.

It is a bit strange that they could not do it for me given I only have the RS, they are a small BS, so I guess they are overwhelmed with manual processing if there are lots of us doing the same. Not received the funds back yet, I assume it will take a couple of days…

    Monmouthshire RS

Mine matures "tomorrow". If I close it today, will they do that today, or are they like one of those building societies (or Cahoot!) who take several days to do these things?

If I don't close it today, will it mature with interest first thing tomorrow, or will it drag on over the weekend?

You could withdraw all funds to your nominated account today, request before 02:00pm and the cash should be with you same day. Deal with the interest as and when it arrives, requesting closure is usual to enable the opening of another RS.

Mine matured Friday 31st July. The account was transferred to an Easy Saver 1 account and included the interest. I opened a new RS 8 and transferred £500 from the Easy Saver into it. Transferred the remaining balance to my nominated account.

Had to do it via the app, as the above wasn't showing online.

I think we are in the same boat with Teachers BS - I have now had 2 emails from them…

4th Aug - "You currently hold a savings account with us, and we recently received a deposit into your account on 1st July 2026, which has been successfully credited."

5th Aug - "Further to our recent email, we have received further funds from you on 3rd August 2026. As your Teachers Building Society account number was not included as the payment reference, we have been unable to allocate the funds, these have therefore been returned to you."

bit harsh to return it considering I hadn't even received the first email by the time I had made the August deposit, but c'est la vie… if you didn't get the first email about July deposit, it might be worth checking your spam/quarantine email folder.

still awaiting the return of the £250, but will send it back as soon as it arrives using the account number.

    SANTANDER RS

    Anyone closed and re-opened?

I opened the RS in tandem with current acct switch in July but didn't have access to either until it was resolved today.

Since bonus is for 12 months from account opening and I've lost out on July now, wondering if I could just close the unfunded one and re-open a new one?

Thank you! Did that happen early enough on the Friday that you could withdraw all your money before the weekend?
