Thanks - that gives me some reassurance as mine matured today and I've requested the withdrawal and new account too.

Looks likely I'll be reinstating the s.o too.

    Appreciate the post.

Re: BOS - I had my interest paid to my Lloyds Current Account - it was virtually instant with no issues.

Also, worth noting that if you intend to print the PDF closing statements for Halifax, BOS (and I assume Lloyds), they do send the same closing statements (including Certificate Of Interest) in the post.

    BoS RS closure

You could. Without asking, when mine was closed the interest was deposited in one of my Lloyds current accounts rather than my BoS current account. I'm guessing it's because at the time the Lloyds CA was overdrawn.

    • 1.) BofS - no existing RS. Opened the new one (new User/login details) Awaiting 'activation code
    • 2) Halifax - closed exisit RS - cannot open new RS as a new or existing coust.
    • 3) Lloyds - as 2

2/3 They keep telling me I can have all 3 but no go (have now lost my existing decent RS with 2/3. Grrrrrrrr

Are your Hfx & Lloyds accounts still showing on line as RS ? To close the RS you need to "renew" it first to a different type of account.

Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.

Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.

    BoS RS 8%

I had an agent close my existing monthly saver. I logged out and in. The old account was still there. Deleted all cookies and other stuff, logged out and back in, old Monthly Saver gone. But the new RS does not appear in new accounts available. How long have people had to wait or is it not going to appear ?

It was next (working) day for me, and I think for some others, too.

It's only the Halifax and Lloyds ones which can be opened same day as "renewing" the old ones.

    Thanks. That makes sense.

Chat agent has suggested logging out and going through the product page to apply for the account not logged in to begin with. Might give that a try. Otherwise next day is ok.
