Yes, 'renew' the account to an easy access account, then log out and back in and you should have the 8% reg saver available. Online, as can't be done in the app.

It might be annoying that the latest interest rate, as well as the lower monthly maximum deposit, does not automatically apply to existing customers but it is by no means a Lloyds-unique that new terms don't apply to existing accounts, and that you can't have more than one of a given type of account. However, as has been noted
- depending on how much you have already in the CL RS, £400 a month at 6.25% might well be a better choice than £250 at 8%
- it is very easy to close an existing Lloyds RS and open a new one if you prefer the 8% one. However, this is making use of a loophole, and as you have already raised a complaint, you might be ill advised to try this now.

I would rather they launched a limited edition regular saver with a decent rate in celebration.

Thank you. Just wanted to check, because I didn't want to ditch the old account and then find I still couldn't open the 8% one. Cheers.

I think you can now also do it in the app, with similar renew and logging out/in procedure. Though to contain the amount of ongoing confusion over this, it might be better if we just stick to talking about doing it online

sure but usually (always?) you cannot see the 8%er until you have logged out and in again.

My thoughts exactly when l received the email earlier. I personally can't think of a better way to celebrate this anniversary event.

Halifax and BoS RS
I renewed Halifax last week, and was just going to leave BoS as is, due to the 1 yr rule. However, seeing that people have managed to close and reapply, did it this morning via chat on app. Will wait until tomorrow to see if successful or not. Not the end of the world if it doesn't work.
EDITED to add
Old Monthly Saver gone this morning 21/7, opened and funded new one. Thanks to everyone for the tip to close through chat in app.0 -
£170 max deposit is asking to be done, similar to Furness’s 160th, Tipton’s 125th and Melton Adcock (£150.)
