I'm aware of that, but us OGs got in before they decided to change it about 10 days after launch. If they could cater for us 12m ago, it'll be interesting to see if they are prepared to put a bit of effort in to keep our custom 1 year on. How difficult can it really be? They've already got all our details on file.

regarding Lloyd’s RS, if opened and first £250 deposited today, when can next £250 be deposited? 1 Aug or 15 Aug?
thanks0 -
Lloyds: The limit is per calendar month so you can start funding on the 1st of each month starting with August 2026 to maximise interest earned on the account.

MonBS
I had the same email today. I already have EA with them so I'll close this new one. I hope they'll still have issue 8 or equivalent on 28th.

Monmouthshire BS
Just use the app. It's running a lot better now than it did initially.

Sorry to briefly drift back to these 3 new accounts, but how do you refresh BOS regular saver to be able to open a new 8% one? Or is it not possible?
0 -
It is possible for some, but not for others. Some just get an error message when trying it.

I'm in the same boat. Error message comes up each time. But did someone 100 messages ago say they found a way around it by emptying the balance and then using Chat to request closure. I cannot seehow to empty it to zero. Any ideas?

BoS -success!I posted what worked for me, but no guarantees of course.
I closed my existing 5.5% Tue morning but couldn't open the 8% one. CS said it may not be possible until original maturity date however to check again when 5.5% one fell off my profile.
It was still showing under my accounts until around 1am this morning but once it disappeared I was able to open and fund the 8% with no problem. 😀
EDIT: I emptied the 5.5% one before I closed it. Interest was paid into my c/a within the hour.

When I last applied online, that required Mon BS to send out a signature form with prepaid envelope followed by a passbook. If that process is still the same, archaic as it is, I can understand the app or branch requirement as it keeps costs down.
The Apple version of the app will run on an operating system released in 2019, Android presumably similar, so running it is less onerous than the major players in terms of how modern a phone/tablet needs to be. Accounts can be loaded added to online banking once open for those who prefer that, and presumably the app deleted and reinstalled several times to enable sharing of a device for the purposes of getting accounts open once or twice a year for those who have no interest in tablets/smartphones at all.
