    Buckinghamshire BS Regular Saver

Well after waiting last week and hearing nothing (re my failed application, as a pre-existing customer) I sent them a secure message late on Friday. Monday afternoon got a reply with a PDF application form (specific to the Regular Saver) attached, which I promptly completed, scanned and sent back. Woke up this morning to see an email with my new account details waiting for me!

So of course I hurried to get my payment in today (in the hope of making another tomorrow) only to get the dreaded NatWest fraud / payment held message. In my case I pointed out I had already paid into another BBS account but had had to delete the payee due to NatWest's silly '1 reference per payee' rule which actually makes funding BS account less safe… Not the most reassuring experience with the fraud team (very bad line and a strong accent!) but fingers crossed it appears on the BBS portal later today or tomorrow!

Unfortunately Bucks seem to currently be on RBS naughty list, I also had to spend almost an hour on the phone explaining that I had previously paid a different Bucks account using exactly the same account details and yes they are a real Building Society, but like you had to delete the existing payee details as it is not possible to modify the reference.

Let's see if tomorrow's second payment into Bucks Reg Saver gets held …

Does anyone know if further payments can be made to Bucks not using the nominated linked account?, I might avoid the hassle and use another current account to fund.

NatWest/RBS REALLY don't like BucksBS do they. They've only been in business since 1907.

There are less than 50 Building Societies (regulated by the PRA) in the UK, you'd think that they'd be able to look it up…

    Furness Building Society

I have a regular saver account with them from their 160th anniversary.

Do I send my money directly to the account today for it to appear tomorrow? I know they're very slow to credit. Or if I do that will be rejected as I've already funded for June, even though I'm not expecting that to be credited until July?

I thought about using NatWest for Bucks (as it is the account I have paper statements for) but very glad that I put Nationwide in as I knew I was going to provide my latest paper statement as evidence to Dudley in order to early close an RS there. Reading these posts I will certainly be keeping Bucks at Nationwide even though it should be possible to switch after the first payment as the terms do not prohibit it.

I would expect that to be rejected. Send the money tomorrow and it should be show by the end of the week dated the 1st. I sent money to the Summer RS first thing in the morning and it was showing the next day, dated the day of sending.

    Bucks

According to t&c it is only the first payment has to be sent from nominated account. I think it is for verification purposes. I am going to make my second payment from a different account tomorrow.

This should work. There’s no cut off time for deposits to Bucks.

    Furness

I have had mixed results of when the funds are received by Furness. What i do now is send funds the day before the 1st to my Furness everyday saver, then transfer the funds across on the 1st to my two RS's. Transfers take seconds.
