It never had an end date if you had set up an SO for it - but after 12 months it always did reset. The reset on the 8% one is a lot less attractive than it was on the 5% one - but then 8% is a lot more attractive than 5%, too 😎
I don't know what would happen if you let an existing 5% run its full 12 months - but reckon they won't any longer renew it now. I won't test it out as I have closed my 5% one and opened the 8% one. What I'll do in 12 months' time depends on what is available in the market at the time. Who knows, it might be possible to close the 8% one, and apply for another one - but that's all speculation at this stage.2 -
Teachers BS Regular Savers
Anyone had Teachers BS reply to secure messages sent via their online portal please? Sent one a while back about my regular saver with them but never heard back and wondering if they actually monitor these. Thanks

Santander RS
If you open this and set up the SO for payment every month starting from a date between the 27th and 30th, what happens in future months where dates falling at the weekend affect the SO? So you’d accidentally, automatically end up with a payment that doesn’t go through until the 1st and then the next usual one would be 27th/28th/29th/30th of the same month. Do Santander just not mind that and allow it or is it best to avoid that and not use a date near the end of the month?

For the Santander RS, it doesn't matter because monthly periods are account months (e.g. 27th to 26th) and not calendar months. For calendar-month accounts, you avoid scheduling SOs towards the end of the month; some banks even state in their terms that transfers should be completed by the 25th of the month.

It will just be on the next working day. The 1st will still be in the same month as the 27th, as the Santander Regular Saver is based on account month, not calender month

Yes I did! But I think they are quite small compared to the popularity of their RS products.

The examples are how much you get after 12 months at 8% and how much you for 13-24 months at 3% and the total you'd have after 24. I guess this is because they have people closing it after 12 and opening a new RS, so trying to get them to keep it open for 24 months showing how much they'd have.

Santander RS
Has anyone who has closed a Santander Regular Saver 2 weeks+ ago received the closure confirmation letter they send out in the post yet? Wondering if they have stopped sending this.

Me neither, but normally they send one and I haven't seemed to get it this time.
