Ive opened the new 5% 1 Year.
Very easy to close early (same-day receipt of closure funds as I discovered yesterday when I closed down my RSB Issue 37) if it becomes uncompetitive. Or you can mothball until end of term with no further payments.
I doubt that there will be further 6 month ones. Very few others (if any) offer an RS at less than a year. Such a short term must add to the costs of admin and doesn't encourage commitment in savers. (I may, of course, be completely wrong)

if you have no other 5% place and have used all the higher rate RSs, you might as well use it. If something better comes along, you can close the account, or stop funding it.

Re Teachers 6.5%
I agree that leaving well alone is the best way forward, I simply sat back after each stage and my account was opened relatively swiftly.
Just in case this is of interest to anyone, I've just noticed that in my transactions, the £250 that I paid shortly after 5pm on the 2nd of June from my Lloyds is showing as having been credited to my TBS account also on the 2nd of June.
Wishing everyone a great day xxx

Principality 1 Year 5% RS
I'm dithering …. looking at what RSs I have maturing in mid 2027, it might be useful to fill a gap in July if it's still around then. I'm not overly worried if I miss out … as your question has speculated, something else might crop up in June/July.

Opened and funded, I need accounts with interest paid next tax year, would have preferred higher interest rate but can always close if a better rate is offered so happy.

Teachers BS
I tried to login to check if my deposit has arrived, but no luck. It could be a glitch or they have disabled my profile and I'll need to wait for a new ID to arrive. Did any existing customers experienced the same?

I just got my first e-mail this morning with login details. I applied Monday evening as a new customer for the 'everyone' account.

Teachers
Had the email through with account details to make the first deposit. Was able to log in. Can't see any account there yet.
Do I need to deposit the money before it will show up?Anybody tried sending £1 first or is everybody sending the full amount?
I also got a message from them in the account page asking for a statement or cheque to verify that the bank account I added was in my name. They said they would send this back. I just replied back and attached a statement.. Anybody else has this?

"If you’ve just opened a new account with us you’ll be able to log in online straight away, but please note that your account details will not appear until your initial deposit has been credited.
If you have requested a bank transfer (new customer): We kindly ask that you wait until the next day before sending the funds, as your new account details will be available from then. Once funds have been received, confirmation will be sent to you by post."
as their account is with Natwest, i'm inclined to leave the first deposit now until Monday.
my nominated account has been approved for transfers - so no equivalent request for statement for me.

Like @topyam I have had a request for a nominal cheque or statement to verify my nominated bank account. If replying to their secure message works that seems the easiest way to proceed.
For info : I applied for the 'everyone' account Monday lunchtime and got an email Friday morning.
