I had issue 36 (4.85%). I opened issue 38 and transferred balance £1.02 from issue 36. It is very unlikely that I will fund this account any time soon, but it might become useful at a later stage of the term, you never know. Whatever happens next with interest rates £1 will earn its well deserved 5% AER😀

Teachers 6% account passed COP today using the temporary account reference - details received on Wednesday so a 2 day wait rather than the usual 1. Funded from NatWest.

I have received login details and successfully logged in. I deposited £250 two days ago. When I login though, I just see a fairly blank screen. None of the other sub menus have any evidence of the account I opened and deposited into. Has anyone else had this?

On Android mobile. Not desktop site.

Thanks. I'm now getting a COP match (also with Natwest) when previously it was giving me an error message. No point it funding over the weekend though, so I'll wait until Monday.

Well I chose the wrong week to be away and I missed Teachers altogether …

Regarding Principality - I did wonder at the end of May wether to close Issue 37 and then reopen a new issue 37- this was something I did a similar action earlier in the year, closed an issue 36 and then opened a new issue 36 and shortly afterwards issue 37 appeared … this was a means of redistributing maturity dates in 2027.

But now we have issue 38 with a better interest rate. 5% is still very low but I have a gap of nearly 8 weeks with nothing maturing so these will mature in June 2027 and start to plug the gap.

Later this month I can then close the ongoing issue 36 and issue 37s which will partially feed the July SOs and also tidy up the Principality list. But it occurs to me that when these are closed that will leave a gap in the list of accounts maturing in February 2027 (to feed March 2027 SOs) … so we address one issue and just move the problem along :)

Still no sign of the £250 I sent on Wednesday morning. There must be some manual intervention required to process it and generate the new account number. Hopefully they will get through the backlog at some point next week.

I'd love to see a chart showing new account openings before and after they were mentioned on here. It seems this forum is very powerful. I suspect there are a large number of silent readers, in addition to the regular posters on here. Feel free to say hello whoever you are 👋

The Teachers BS platform looks the same as the one Monmouthshire BS use. With Monmouthshire there is a manual process carried out by staff to add new accounts to the online profile (the 'add account' button just creates the task for them to do).

If Teachers do the same thing then the account won't appear online until someone has manually completed the background process.

I sent my deposit Wednesday morning too. Still no sign of the account showing online. I'm feeling confident everything will be okay, and they're just bogged down with a high workload

I'm very much the same as you, except I didn't take up Issue 37 @ 4.75. I've been fortunate enough to get 2 teachers RS to fill what would have been a June gap next year. Now looking at July, so might take up Principality Issue 38, if nothing above 5% becomes available.
