I transferred £1000 at 7.30pm yesterday from Santander to my Monmouthshire and it was credited today at precisely 9.27am dated 2006-05-01.
I have previously made transfers as late as 11.00pm on a working day and it was credited next day dated the previous day.

I had Chorley regular savers mature on the 30th but the maturity proceeds are still meandering around hyperspace and might not arrive until Tuesday …. - is this just one of their quirks? - other building society maturity amounts on their maturity day appear in the same afternoon in my current account.
In the meantime I have Coventry regular savers and Yorkshire regular savers maturing on the 3rd - I imagine that there is no point in doing anything until Tuesday so I have to resist the temptation to tidy them up and close them down
But I also have LLoyds regular savers and Lloyds monthly savers maturing on Sunday 4th which I can restart
With this little glut of savers maturing next weeks job is to open an ISA for OH (to reduce his interest on savings as he exceeds his personal allowance)
Just realised that what I seem to be doing over every May bank holiday weekends is resorting out regular savers. I should really book a holiday for early May 2027 instead to get out of this tragic cycle :)

My records show either Bacs-ish timescales - received on the third working day after the maturity day - and a couple of times by cheques in the post. If it follows this pattern and delayed by the weekend and the bank holiday, I'd anticipate receiving the money in your nominated account on Wednesday 06/05.

Check the special conditions of accounts running on a calendar month basis on the opening posts of this thread. There are a few accounts that have a maximum balance, but most do not restrict this. Some have a maximum balance and do not enforce it.

Thank you for the information. But it's all good.

So I just checked Penrith BS and Furness BS to see if my funds have been credited. but so far, no show. I suppose they are not going to be visible now until Tues, it being a bank holiday

Same, card reader required for every transaction, even a 6p clearup to NatWest Digital Regular Saver 🤦♀️
Family member had no problem later in the day even though they were making a payment for more than £500.
