I seem to recall they slipped behind a few years back, I can recall having no Principality RSs despite having several other RSs elsewhere.
Coventry used to consistently have high interest RSs at one time, including when their First Home Saver jumped from 2.95% to 5% in late 2022/early 2023, irritating many (myself included) who had emptied their accounts into 3% EA accounts at the time. NatWest/RBS were also among my top RSs a few years back, now they're among the lower ones in my collection.
There's been quite a few who've had their moments in the sun before retreating back into the shadows.

Well it's not 4.75% for a whole year, or even 4.94% - a common mistake when assessing interest rates for terms less than a year. You need to understand the concept of compound interest, otherwise you will struggle to compare accounts of different terms, unless you just go by the APR. That's basically what it's there for, to make comparisons easy.

I recall joining PBS in around September 2020, then having very little with them after that account matured until the Maturity Winter and Healthy Habits in 2023.
They all have their moment in the sun but I would have expected a drop to 5.5-6%, rather than cutting by a third in one go. A differential of only ~0.25% makes the Regular Saver Bond their most appealing offering. It has historically been in the region of ten times that.

Although in the past I seem to recall it was their regular saver bonds themselves that caused excitement, at one time I had a fair bit in their First Home Steps RSs (then with a tiered interest rate), that's also fallen behind.
Looking at some of the accounts that make up the top 10 though and considering just the time I've been on the forum (barely 4 years); Zopa, Co-op, Scottish BS, AIB, Harpenden, Monmouthshire haven't always offered RSs at all, Hanley used to be very uncompetitive at one point (way below EA accounts) but have shot up the rankings, some goes for ESBS, the LBG RSs used to be close to EA rates in 2022 IIRC but rose again, Nationwide at one time offered only a Start to Save Issue 2 account with a £50 max monthly deposit and a mediocre rate IIRC, MHBS only offered a Members RS paying less than EA accounts before they launched their fixed rate regular savers.
My overall point though is that banks/building societies rise and fall in the rankings all the time, Principality's cut is significant but it's by no means out of the ordinary in the wider savings landscape. I'll just take what comes.

Re: Zopa Regular Saver - payment not taken today
My monthly payment date is 28th of the month but my payment was not taken today. There are sufficient funds in my connected and the app is showing 28/04/26 as my next auto save date. The balance in the account showing in the app is the amount after my interest was paid on 11/3/26. I usually have a notification that the auto save has been collected but nothing today.
Has this happened to anyone else today?

A few others have previously complained of failures. I've never had an issue myself.

This is the first time it has happened for me

There have been others who have reported the Zopa auto-save not working. It doesn't seem to be a weekend issue as I had an auto-save on Saturday the 3rd January to into my RS without issue. I have however, updated the Zopa App this morning because it failed to update automatically; there was no maintenance last night/this morning because I was using the Zopa App - Maybe the update is causing an issue, and if so, my next auto-save on the 3rd may also have the non-collection from my connected?!

Re: Zopa Regular Saver
I have made a manual payment into the regular saver account as it showed I had £300 available to pay in. It is still showing 28/4/26 as my next auto save date so I guess there was an issue their end.

The same here. Nothing lasts forever. I take it when it comes and don't get upset when it goes. My longest running RS is FD (opened the first one in 2010), but it had a break for a year or two when the rate turned uncompetitive.
I opened my 1st Principality RS (Christmas 2020) in November 2019, never had a break since. My 2026 Christmas matures at the end of December, so definitely no break until then.
Coventry had very competitive RS products for many years, not today. Today I have a Limited Access Account with them as a back up for a chance of decent loyalty RS.
