Are you a bot?
Your post seems to nagate naming who you're with or who the "other supplier" is - devoid of any details.

"Currently saving about 10% compared to Octopus Nov 2025 v3" Who with?

I understand Trump is rapidly building export terminals for all the shale gas he's extracting - expect the world market to be flooded, and energy prices to fall this year as a result.
Possibly.

Ooh, ark at them!
No I am not a bot. Some forumites just do not like to see any valid criticism of the forum's favourite supplier do they?
Not that I owe anyone any explanation, but I elected not to mentioning who I am supplied by earlier because when I do, I am often falsely accused of spamming, being their agent, etc
But if you are really interested, look at my other posts elsewhere, and only a fool would not be able to identify my supplier.
All you need to do is consult a comparison site to see just how expensive Octopus are. There is more than one supplier who is cheaper than Octopus. Ensure you are looking at the whole of market.

At the moment, the other suppliers with the exception of BG (no thanks) and Fuse (possibly but exit fees put me off) suppliers are not better than the fixes I have with Octopus, which conveniently end on April 1st. I have been "testing" their customer service - AI bots asking stupid questions via email but eventually doing what I wanted and a real person in the UK who picked up the phone in five minutes and seemed to know what he was doing, but whether they will resolve a meter problem with an actual visitation remains to be seen, possibly have to wait until they buy some human-like robots off Tesla…

We are on a 14 month January 25 fix with Octopus which expires on 20 March. I looked on the MSE energy club and it seems we could be saving up to £300 a year with a few different companies but if prices are to drop on 1 April should we just migrate automatically onto their variable rate and wait until 1 April to swap?
Sorry for being ignorant, my OH pays the bill (dual fuel) and has said Octopus are the cheapest (we were moved over to them when our old company folded think it was called people's energy or something like that). We have an electric car so I think the overnight cheaper rate for charging was attractive but as we get free charging at the Tesla superchargers we have no need for this really.
Thanks for any pointers I find it really confusing despite trying to concentrate when Martin Lewis is explaining it on TV.

@melb you say:
We are on a 14 month January 25 fix with Octopus which expires on 20 March. I looked on the MSE energy club and it seems we could be saving up to £300 a year
But then you say:
We have an electric car so I think the overnight cheaper rate for charging was attractive
Which Octopus tariff are you on?
The CheapEnergy Club does a very poor job ofcomapring tariffs for people with EV tariffs, but then again:
we get free charging at the Tesla superchargers
If you do all your charging at Superchargers and never charge at home, you probably have no need for an EV tariff or a cheaper overnight rate.
The devil's in the detail and you've not shared enough of those yet 🙂

I am reluctant to switch away from Octopus. I had a SMET2 meter problem over about 3 years (non-communication). Yes, the support team at base could not be more helpful (via emails); yes, was referred to Smart Meter Team who kept in touch and sent engineers out about 3 times to try different solutions. In the end the more powerful hub kicked in and green lights flashed all at the same time!!! Hurrah.
Quick call to support and they took me through synchronising the gas meter to the electric one and later confirmed all readings being received. So far all good!
Some of the horror stories on here about inept customer service puts me off switching……

Octopus 12M Fixed February 2026 v3
Doesn't look much different to V2 at a glance.
