Thats great news LM, and a very good positive first step.

Now can I be a bossy cow and tell you to go and have something else to eat one cracker is not enough to keep healthy on. Come on girl, you are on a roll now lets make this into a REALLY good day for you. :)

Lol, sorry LM but I have to agree and be bossy too! Get somet else to eat - you know it makes sense!

My counsellor is always nagging me to eat when I get stressed/depressed - it drives me potty but I have to admit, it does help! (Shhhh, don't tell her I said so! tongue.gif)

I can relate to you there, I have a very rocky relationship with my dad and I know it can be very painful. It's taken me a long time to come to terms with the fact we will never be close (tbh I would go as far as to say he hates me) but the only way to live with it is to accept it and try to move on. Much easier said that done though.

    Yeah. :(

I was abused by my family as a child so I have flashbacks and nightmares which means lack or sleep and irritability sometimes, which is why I keep apologising if I sound rude in this thread.

I know they can't hurt me anymore, but sometimes I feel like I'm still that child.

Long story short. I was meant to attend a medical interview but due to my mental health couldn't.

I received a letter asking why I hadn't attended. I phoned up and told them. The person I spoke to was very understanding and said she'd sort it out and arrange a home visit.

I received a letter today saying that they hadn't heard from me and that I am deemed eligible to work.

I have severe agoraphobia and BPD. I cannot go out the house, let alone hold down a job.

What are my rights on this?

This has made me so stressed.

    xx

First of all, Calm down. Tomorrow morning telelphone your local CAB office and speak to them, then contact your mental health worker and explain your concerns and that you did contact them. Then telephone the dwp and explain to them that you did telephone.
I'm sure they will be sympathetic, especially considering you are an Agoraphobic.
How insensitive can these people be?
Surely, a person with Agoraphobia could have home meetings with a health worker. It really beggers belieff!

  • Right Lady Morticia, if you've had your second cracker like Looby said, why not finish it off into a balanced meal and have some fruit??

(I'm old enough to be your mum too!).

What a constructive think you've done e-mailing MIND and the other organisation!

I hope they reply to you quickly.

Well done for emailing them LM - hold on to the fact that you have done something positive and allow yourself to accept that it is a step forward.
I know what you mean about family too - I lost my Mum to cancer a few years ago - my relationship with my Dad is not good either - he used to live with me but he met someone and left and went 200 miles away last year,
Having panic attacks and agraphobia can be so lonely and isolating - I know how you feel.
    Pm me any time xx

As for some particular posters on here all I can say is ignore them. I, for one am disgusted by their treatment of you but I look at it like this, fat fairy is a newbie, great start huh :confused: Maybe she just needs a little time to aclimatise to how we *work* on mse and Inactive AFAIK doesnt venture down these parts too much so probably just wants a rumble, dont bite ;)

Well done on sending those emails LM - that's a really good start.

What else have you eaten since I last posted?

Have you had a hot drink? A mug of tea does wonders.

    Hope you're ok.
