Lloyds switch offer 6 January to 3 February 2026

Just opened an account but was going to start the switch after the application rather than during, but the wording at the end makes it sound like I wont be able to access the account until they post out the letter. Is this the case?

Think I've messed up there as that won't arrive in time for me to start the switch.

If you are an existing Lloyds (or potentially Halifax/BOS) customer you'll have access to online banking or the app and should be able to start your switch there.

Thanks. Might be ok then, although I switched away from Halifax recently, I can still login to the Halifax app so will see what happens when the account opens.

If I've missed it, not the end of the world..

My switch to Lloyds completed yesterday, seems like it although I've received no communication to say so.

All the direct debits have been moved over along with the balance from my old TSB account which was transferred over yesterday morning.

However the TSB account is still showing in their app, with the name being changed to Personal Switch Out Account, zero balance and no DD's. Confused by this, should have been closed completely, or maybe just a delay on TSB's part.

I did a switch away from TSB around four years ago, but that time I did not log back in afterwards and deleted the app.

Just out of interest, did anyone who downgraded and opened a new Club Lloyds account not get issued with a debit card for the opened account? Not a problem for me, as I'll be shortly using this account as a donor for another switch, and I've not had any issues switching accounts in the past without debit card details where none has been issued.

I switched out of a TSB account a few months back, and the old account was still showing in the app for a couple of days

Switch went through fine, got the bonus, old account soon disappeared from TSB

I downgraded from Premier to open a new CL account. Got issued with a debit card for the new CL account, as well as a new debit card for the former Premier account (Premier gets a special debit card, so they've replaced it now that it's a Classic account again).

Did the downgraded Premier account get a new account no/sort code? Would be rather petty to change the card just because it has a picture of a posher horse.

Same account details. Agree it's kind of petty, but it is what it is
