    Hi everyone.

@maman i make Hairy Bikers pan haggerty and it is lovely. Perfect for the grey, miserable days.

We have got your torrential rain up here. Glad I’m in a nice warm surgery rather than out on my rounds.

I’ve weighed in this morning and am really happy to say I have lost a WHOLE kilogram. It has dropped me out of the bottom of my target range but, as I’m not a proper member, I aren’t bothered. It gives me plenty of room to play about with. In a perfect world, I could stand to lose another 1/2stone/3kg to be smack in the middle of the healthy BMI range but when I was losing at group I just couldn’t get any lower. I went up and down the same 3lbs for the best part of a year and called target as I was fed up of paying. Then my group closed and I didn’t go elsewhere.Maybe I’ll try and get down to that as I seem to have a new found ability to resist most munchies and wine (for now anyway)

Right, that’s lunch over with. Today’s food has been yog/berries, a banana, couscous with salad and halloumi and tea will be egg, chips and beetroot. New season easy peelers are in now and they are delicious. I’ve eaten so many in the last few days I can’t tell you.

    Afternoon all 😁

Coxy was thinking about you this morning , i had missed you posting, glad you are feeling better.

Maman i use a mixture of greek yoghurt and ltl mayo in coleslaw and potato salad.

Not been nice here, not really rained but been dreary, we had alot of rain in the night though and alot forecast for the morning. My bedding is on the airer.

    Well done MMidge 👏👏

I was not happy this morning, took the car back as it was booked in after MOT failure last Tuesday also told them the heater is not working and needed to be looked at, i told them i would need a car, they usually give me one, no , not today we sat there from 8am -11.15 , it's passed the MOT now but heater still not fixed 😡 got to take it back next Monday, i said i was under the impression you was doing it today, DH is too nice, he said it doesn't matter, calm down 🤣next week is fine, but then on the way back he said strange the heater is not part of the MOT because if it was frosty you have to have a clear windscreen.

Anyway i have just about calmed down 🤣

I am trying to use slow cooker more as i really wasn't keen on food cooked in it apart from pulled pork, but giving it a go with a nice (hopefully) chicken stew, 2 sv for the whole pot.

    Lunch was free

    That's an excellent result @Matron_Midge . Well done!! 👏👏👏

I'd just keep going now you're on a roll and 🤞, you could get to the weight you'd ideally like to be.

At least the car passed its MOT @bubbs ,so that's a positive but the heater would pack up just as the weather is getting colder. ☹️

I only use my SC for batch cooking things like curry, chilli and Bolognese for the freezer. The only time I cooked meals to eat on the day was when we didn't have a kitchen. I think the food tastes better after its marinated than when its just been cooked.

We had the reverse problem @bubbswhen we came back from Turkey. We picked the car up from airport parking and the air conditioning didn't work so we baked all the way home🥵 . Glad we got it fixed PDQ thinking about all the hot months that were to follow.

I use the Hairy Bikers recipe for chilli, sometimes with mince but it's nice with cubed beef or veggie when I add extra beans. Of course, I make it extra SW friendly with added vegetables (mushrooms, baby corn, courgettes etc as well as the peppers, onions and tomatoes in the recipe). 😋

Morrisons are definitely upping their game lately @bubbs .👍

Pleased to hear the stew went well.

If you aren't keen on red kidney beans, you could just use baked beans another time . Yesterday I added kidney beans, borlotti and a cheapo tin of Aldi baked beans as I did a veggie version.

Morning all, very grey this morning with rain forecast for most of the morning although it hasn't actually started yet!

DH has a follow up appointment at the eye hospital this morning so I'm hoping it doesn't start raining while I'm driving there - I hate having to have the wipers on!

How was the chilli @bubbs? It's not something we have very often but I do enjoy it when we do have it.

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese omelette - Calcium, P
    L - chicken fajita - Fibre, P; S; 3
    D - lamb and chickpea tagine, herby couscous - P; S; F

    Fibre - SW wrap
    Calcium - milk, cheese
    Swips - sweet chilli sauce

    Have a good day everyone.
