Morning all, it's a bit cloudy this morning but forecast to stay dry so another load in the machine and I'll hang it out when it finishes.  Probably won't dry but at least it should get the worst of the water out which will mean less tumble dryer time.

How did the wassail go @Coxy11?  Did you enjoy it and was it worth going?  Assume that was at Brogdale.

Look after yourself @beanielou.  Have you still got your mum staying with you?

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger, onions, gherkins, soft pitta - S; 0.5
D - roast lamb dinner (using cheap lamb from the Christmas deals) - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - soft pitta
    Swips - sausages 2; burger 0.5

    Have a good day everyone.

What a total disappointment with the meal @joedenise . Id have been raging

@maman , I think 90% of Jamies recipes are SW friendly - if you ignore his "gallon drizzle of olive oil " Great loss as well

@bubbs - our electricity is 38p a unit , 17p off peak ( 1am to 8 am at the moment ) We went E7 when we got the electric car. Previously we paid 36p a unit . Now cos Im up at 5am I put on the dishwasher and tumble dryer then and we were £50 down on last years bill

@beanielou - look after yourself. Falls as we age are dreadful. With the ice we have had since the start of the year Ive nearly left the house because Im petrified of falling

    @Matron_Midge tough week ((((HUGS ))))

@jellybaby - a STS on a challenging week is brilliant , at least you managed to keep focussed on that , and sometimes that keeps us sane and grounded

I didnt weigh in this week, first week Ive skipped in over a year but I was so tired and was having house guests arriving for lunch time, I went sod it - sleep is required . I jumped on my scales though and it also looked to be a STS

Buoyed by the excitement of Jacket Bargain, I went online to see what other bargains may be had, and I got a load of new bedding, and finally got a pair of jeans Ive been trying for a year to get. They arrived yesterday and fit like a glove . As we were going out for drinks and a meal on they went, with just a t shirt, and THE JACKET - and I looked and felt a million dollers

When I think that just  three years ago I would not go out and if I did go out, dressing up was clean leggings and a smock type top or oversized hoodie -  Id say "oh it's only the pub " to justify looking a mess. Now Im "oh, its the pub, let me smarten up"and I even put a bit of slap on and like a teenager might try 3 different outfits lol

Weather here has been atrocious   We are alternating between freezing fog and ice, to torrential rain . Im trying to get out walking which really did take a back seat over Christmas. I look like the Michelin man with the amount of layers Im putting on, the size 18 jackets have their use now - as I might have up to four or five layers on under them, including at least one other jacket. And Its that cold Im wearing thermals as a matter of course.  I dont know whether its my age or lack of padding but Im really feeling the cold this year

    Morning all,

The wassail was good @joedenise - yes Brogdale’s first time doing it. The free tea and coffee was only half a small takeaway cup “as it was hot” err yes! So I had to queue up twice. DH had a mulled cider - I took a sip, quite dry compared to mulled wine. We also bought the melodeon player a pint of cider as the queue was long and she was needed in the procession through the orchard (which was about 100m!). I made a tree hanger from pipe cleaners, rag strips and ribbon - probably meant for thr kids but hey ho! Morris dancers were hilarious.

We came home for pizza (DH) and soup (me) then went for drinks, finally falling into bed at 1am after a foggy drive home. I’ve just been to yoga - but jaded so took me a while to relax.

BIL and two adult nieces are descending on us today so will bring out toasted sarnies and crisps. Would have preferred to get out for a walk but all very last minute.

Pleased to hear the new jacket and some new jeans have had an outing @Longwalker it’s so nice to feel confident in our clothes x

Take it easy @beanielou those staples sound awful - big hugs for you xx

Food today - still to be christened. Back later with a plan.

@Coxy11 - if you enjoy the Morris dancing then get along to Broadstairs 7-14 August, it's their folk week (very expensive to park but park at Canterbury P&R and get the bus).  Tickets are very expensive if you want to go to any of the shows but the Morris dancers are all around the town, the bandstand and the harbour.  It's brilliant and free.  Booze is only available in plastic glasses for safety, LOL!  We go most years for the weekend.  Hoping to go this year as well - I've put it in the calendar with a query!

Glad THE jacket and new jeans made you feel a million dollars going to the pub @Longwalker.  So good to feel great in what you're wearing.

Just read back and sending biggest of hugs to those having a tough time with stresses, bad news and @beanielou's accident. 🤗 Sometimes SW has to take a back seat when there's so much to deal with but I think keeping your strength up with healthy eating can help too.

Well done on your half pound @bubbs and your STS @Jellybaby.👍🏼

Good luck with your WI tomorrow @Coxy11, hope the toasties and crisps don't feature too much in your plan for today.🤔

MY DH is doing Dry January too @joedenise. He coped fine until the middle of last week when he's had to talk himself out of having a drink. Obviously I'm not doing it as I'd rather have alcohol free days throughout the year rather than just the one month (which is what DH will do).

You're so right about SW boosting self esteem and taking an interest in your clothes @Longwalker. I've been at target (or thereabouts😉) for years now but I still love it. It's great to plan what I want to wear for various occasions rather than just hide in black layers.

I didn't get to post yesterday but stayed on plan. I even took a banana to the football rather than my usual Crunchie.😇

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- LO chicken jambalaya (P,S,F)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P,S), new potatoes (F), greens (S)
    Swips- cornflour 1.5, weekend wine😋

Apologies @bubbs on missing your half pound loss - excellent stuff xx

We stumbled across the last day of Broadstairs folk week last year @joedenise. We will definitely go this year so thanks for the dates xx

    Hi all,

Hope you’re taking things easy @beanielou.   Well done to the losers 🎉- and to us all really, for sticking with it when we can and dealing with life!

Your outfit sounds fab @Longwalker and right up my street 😁 I may have to have a look online 😉

Apologies if I’ve missed anything, I did read back but my brain is not taking much in at the moment. A quieter day though which I’m thankful for.  Food all on plan so far amd a bit of a fishy day - fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, baked potato with prawns and salad for lunch (estimating 4 syns for seafood sauce) and it’s haddock for dinner tonight with new potatoes and loads of roasted veg.

Some may remember my friend who loves TGTG bags but hates fish? Well there’s another two bags coming my way!  I’ve given up asking why she persists 🙈🤷‍♀️
