Think there's pros and cons to having both done at the same time but suppose the main thing is getting the recuperation over in one go. He won't be a good patient - patience is not in his DNA! I'm sure he'll be very demanding and won't want to just lay there like he's supposed to.
The nurse said it could be anything from 1-3 months time so decided that as it could be that long we'd still go to France which we have booked for 2 weeks time for a month so he's made a note that the op won't be done before the middle of July when we get back. DH just needs to finish sorting out the motorhome now! Hopefully he can get the engine battery out tomorrow and then we can go and get a new one!
I'll need to get inside and check what things need topping up - things like toothpaste, kitchen rolls, loo rolls, washing up liquid/sponges. Also tinned food, S&P and other condiments etc. Then the final thing will be clothes and the last minute fridge/freezer stuff as I'll be taking some HM ready meals for the first couple of nights.
We had loads of rain when we got to the hospital - was glad we got there early so we were able to sit in the car until it eased off a bit! Think we had quite a lot of rain at home too as the water butts are now full - they were about half full after last night's rain! There's been some thunder but no more rain since we got home.
Sorry - that was a bit of an essay!

At least you have a plan in place now @joedenise . You'll enjoy France and then get the surgery done. At least DH will be in hospital for those first few days so someone else will have to keep him down! 🤣
Glad you got what you wanted from your shopping trip @Coxy11 . It's strange but sometimes it's harder to get what you want when you're looking for something specific. I find most of my best buys are when I'm not really looking IYSWIM. 🤔
That's one of the best things about SW and losing weight @Glad that you can actually buy outfits that you like not just cover ups or anything that fits! Enjoy your meal and wearing your new clothes.
It's been a strange day here, glorious sunshine one minute and then torrential rain in between. I have to say it's far more comfortable than that draining heat last week. 🥵
Today's plan -
B fry up (P, F), toast (fibre), milk (calcium 1)
L- tuna salad (P, S, F)
D spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce (P, S, F), Parmesan (calcium 2)
Swips - LTL mayo 1

He won't be in hospital @maman for those first days - I'll have to drive home with him in the passenger with the seat as far back as it will go so that he is as flat as possible! Then it will be back to the hospital again the following day and then back home for another day before a follow up appointment after a week! Would be easier if he was in hospital at least for the first day!

Morning,
That seems bonkers @joedenise if you need to keep ferrying DH about in a horizontal position! Surely easier to keep him in for a night? Jeez. Good that you can get away in the van 👍
I agree about shopping @maman if I go out with a specific idea in mind I never find it. Luckily I was just after ‘shorts’ ‘linen trousers’ and ‘tops’ so it was a generic list!
Thanks for the jelly SWIPs @bubbs luckily I don’t eat it!I am working in the office today. Food will be:
B - ham and mushroom omelette - P, S
L - WM soft pitta, cheese, lettuce, apple - Fibre, Calcium, S
D - prawn and chilli linguine, salad - P, free, S
Calcium - milk
SWIPs - skinny bar 3.5

Morning all, definitely cooler again today and with a fair amount of wind. DH has been trying to dry his BBQ gloves since Monday and they are still really damp inside and because they are so thick it's impossible to turn them inside out which would be the ideal thing to do! With a bit of luck they'll dry properly today!
Agree @Coxy11 it's absolutely bonkers that he's supposed to lay flat for most of the time for 3 days but I've got to drive 40 minutes each way for them to check him the following day. Would certainly be easier if they kept him in overnight. Think the problem is it is a day ward and not a ward within the main hospital.
Glad you managed to get some holiday clothes at BW without problems - much easier when you're looking for generic stuff rather than specific! I want to get down to Canterbury before we go away as could do with some more shorts but can manage OK if I can't get any.
Thanks for the jelly info @bubbs. I don't make jelly often but do occasionally. Won't really make any difference as I make 4 small jellies out of a packet and Swip at 0.5 each already so it works out the same. It really only affects anyone who makes a pint of jelly for themselves - that's a lot of jelly!
Today's plan:
B - mincemeat baked oats - Fibre; F; 6
L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
D - confit duck, new potatoes, veg - S; F; 8
Calcium - milk
Fibre - oats
Swips - mincemeat 6; confit duck 8 (it's a very small leg and will be cooked on a rack so nearly all the fat is drained away from the meat)I've counted the mincemeat as 1 Swip per tsp - is that right?
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
Not posted this week as I was wandering around garages looking at lovely, but damn expensive, cars! I’ve bitten the bullet and gone for a Toyota Yaris, picking it up next week ….eek 🤣
When I’m stressed I either don’t eat or go the total opposite and eat everything in sight. I’ve not eaten much this week but on SW as we all know that’s never a good thing!
Ive had granola fibre choice with strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast. When I get back from salsa class I’ll have a veggie omelette and pickles and it’s Cajun salmon, Jersey Royals and roasted veg for dinner.Hope to catch up with posts this afternoon but hope you’re all well and no doubt preparing for holidays 🤣🤣🤣

I don't eat jelly myself but that seems a big leap from free to 2 swips @bubbs . I suppose it's because some people have been eating too much of it a bit like the Muller lights years ago.🤔
Pleased you got what you wanted on your shopping trip @Coxy11 . I'm sure there was plenty of choice for that sort of generic items.
I never wear shorts as I find them uncomfortable. I think it's partly because I'm long in the body but mainly I don't like things clinging to my waist in hot weather. When I'm going to the beach club or by the pool I wear short sun dresses or longer ones if I'm going out for lunch/sightseeing. I didn't need much new this year (thanks to SW everything fits👍🏼) but I did buy a couple of new bikinis because some of mine were getting past it. I picked up a dress last week for evenings which was a want rather than a need. It'll be great for holidays but also for dancing because it has a lovely swirly skirt.
Buy Black Sandwash Sleeveless Midi Dress 20 | Midaxi | TuEnjoy your new car when it comes @Jellybaby . They always take some getting used to but I'm sure you'll love it. Shame you didn't get something tiny or a sports car that couldn't double up as a taxi!🤣
You're right about not eating enough, it never seems to work on SW. I had a couple of days last week when I ate very little because it was too hot but I really don't feel any thinner.☹️ Snap for today's lunch!😁
It's a fairly miserable day here @joedenise , dull, blowy and frequent showers. DH needs one of his polo shirts for the weekend so I've hand washed it, spun and hung it in the bathroom so hope it'll dry.🤞🏼
Today's plan-
B- porridge (fibre), milk (calcium), strawberries (S), banana (F)
L- Spanish omelette (P,S), pickles (S)
D- chicken curry with rice (P,S,F)
Swips- none planned0
