The reason these folks don't rehearse in their own houses/garages is probably the noise so they should be understanding. Perhaps next rehearsal day pop through and ask them to come out individually to listen, I bet they genuinely don't realise how noisy they are being. Id also be getting mower lady round for a cuppa in the garden about 20 minutes before usual start up time so she can see if she would want to sit there in esr plugs every Tuesday!
I would think thered be a compromise to rehearse acoustically at least? Maybes not, im no expert on how instruments work.
Of course the whole point of the community spaces is to be somewhere to go and have noisy events or children's parties without bothering neighbours but it sounds like this hall's setup is not conducive to that.
The only real piece of constructive help I can give is when we had noisy garden neighbours 2 weekend out if 3, was to try to get out of my het up, tense every Sunday afternoon waiting on it starting attitude and try to keep reminding myself they were just having fun and were not doing it to deliberately annoy me etc etc. Surprisingly it did help to an extent as eventually we had got into the tense state every Saturday night thinking is it going to be nice tomorrow, will they have the family round, do we need anything that we can go out and do etc etc

You are not being at all unreasonable, that is not just hurtful but downright inconsiderate, rude, entitled, and then b*tchy.
Sounds like she heard what she needed to hear from Mr KK imo, raising a glass to him for (literally your) home truths 🍻

vent away. Sone great suggestions from Daisy. Old community people sometimes resent incomers even those who really help the community. Frustrating but maybe approaching the band direct might help??
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I don't think people always realise how stressful noise can be. It's so quiet here that when the only people in the village who make noise are running badly-maintained petrol strimmers and yelling at each other over the noise it is really intrusive and annoys everyone. But no one says anything…

Sorry to hear about the noise problem KK. You should be able to enjoy your own home without all the noise. It sounds like ride-on mower lady needed bringing down a peg or two. Not very pleasant considering they are meant to be chapel folk. Hope you and mr KK can sort it and there is a compromise to be had that will suit all

Thanks @Brie, @daisy_1571, @beanielou, @PennysIntoPounds, @Watty1, @greenbee, @Skint_yet_Again - it does help to have people say that noise is stressful and it's not just us making a fuss about nothing.
I self soothed by watching the whole of I-player's 'Emma'! 🤣 It did help actually, seeing a whole bunch of people either behaving in a kind civilised way, or being held to account for their behaviour if it wasn't good enough.
Didn't train yesterday but did all of the shoulder rehab, hydrated and ate well (no snacking) so taking that as a win.
I also started on my counselling art project. Roughed out the background landscape in pens and then pastel pencils. At this rate its going to end up a multi layered collage! I have ordered things to stick on it! 🤣
The insect bite on my leg that bled is just as bad as usual - woke me all the way through the night on both Saturday and Sunday, though I did manage to doze a bit more last night. The veggie patch is very weedy 😕 and as hard as iron again <sigh> as I lost my digging / clearing window in late winter / early spring due to my shoulder being unusable. I will try one more time, starting very early (I will aim for 7am to 9am) when it's cool, on Saturday / Sunday this coming weekend, with trousers tucked into socks, elastic bands on the wrist of a long sleeved top and repellent at my neck line to see how far I can get before the flies wake up again. If I haven't broken the back of it by then, I may have to ask the garden contractor if he could help (but I don't want to spend the money really).
Accident in work by 7.30am this morning. Minor, just the nick to a finger, but given it was contact between said finger and a rotating, high speed, saw blade, I feel we have been flipping lucky! I have given firm direction on actions required to manage the risk more effectively in future.
I will let you know what happens further with the noise issue …
