Sorry to hear about your work situation 😕 (I do sympathise, we're facing similar, although not quite the same, right now 😬). I quite agree investing in yourself is sensible, and retaining sanity at all costs is good. I've always found counselling a wise investment for everyone's sake (you might know we're having joint counselling at the minute - also an excellent investment all round!) Take care of yourself x

As you know from my diary investing in myself both physically and mentally has become a bit of a focus. A move away from "building the savings pots" but there is little point in being MF / having savings and not being well enough to enjoy that.
Some wise MSE person once told me that the whole point of the MF thread was to spend mindfully when we do and spending on self is definitely that
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
Thanks MB, I will see how I get on.
Thanks @Cheery_Daff, it will be interesting to see what I make of the counsellor and his approach.
I hope you are finding your counselling helpful.I think you are one of many people around me beating a path ahead of me on this, for which, thank you x
Car MOT and service today. £384! 😳 Apparently it needed a new offside front lower suspension arm and wheel alignment.I did manage to get out for a brief walk at lunchtime today 😊

To be fair, I said similar to Mr KK over dinner - we don’t want the wheel falling off just before we go to France! 😂
The wild cherry I saw today was beautiful - had a very slight hint of pink at the base of the petals and they smelt of cherry. 🍒

Aaaaand I have finished for a week’s holiday …. <happy sigh>
Just had my first counselling session. Boy did we get into it ….! 😳 I’m having some worksheets sent over to think through, but I have already realised something about how I live now that is a direct flow through from my childhood … A good start.

It is quite scary how things from your childhood can still keep affecting you. I am 80 now & the odd things still keep turning up. I didn't even realise how much I had been manipulated throughout my life until I was in my 50s. I just took it all for granted.

I have realised today that I wasn’t ever really allowed to be a child, because that was noisy, annoying and disruptive for my parents. So I am kind of ‘muted’. That’s probably why I struggle to feel or allow myself joy much of the time …
Thanks @beanielou, @redofromstart 😊 It feels very good … 🤩
Rehab done - in some ways, not as good as last week, but I am doing it sooner after the physio session than last week, so maybe that’s why.
Steps very low, so have just done a 2K session with lovely Rick whilst Mr KK is having tinker time in the garage 😊
