There are many, many areas of my garden that are dreadful (landscape gardener is coming to brutalise one of them next Friday - I can then finesse it once he’s done the hard / skilled bit) but it’s nice to enjoy one section 😊

I shared these photos and comments with my parents via email and then rang my mum.
I wish to record that my mother and I had a lovely chat and laughed, in a bitter, eye rolling sort of a way at this summer, the temperatures, the difficulty of functioning etc etc … We agreed that refrigerators, freezers and cellars were wonderful things! I can’t remember the last time I had a conversation with my mother like this … 😳❤️ It was really lovely. I am deliberately telling you so you can remind me of it the next time she says something else awful to me … we had this moment of connection.

She also asked about the ponds so I have been very virtuous and sent off some photos of those, with suitable commentary as well 😊

Steps were feebly low by mid afternoon so I did a half hour steps with r1ck session. In the end I got 10.6K steps in 😊

Mr KK returned home from his show, lightly baked and shattered so I had to cook dinner … However, I had a brainwave and instead of reheating his HM beef and gravy in the oven as we normally would, I popped it in the microwave - worked perfectly 😊👏 Though the MW did get a bit damp after and needed a wipe out.

We are surrounded by, covered in, smoke from wildfires in Ebyw vale to the west of us. Means we can’t have any windows open. With really high temperatures coming again this week, this could be the end of me … 😳😢🥵

Watered everywhere including lugging cans of water down to the bottom of the garden to keep the new Judas tree, smoke bush and another shrub I can’t remember the name of going. I really ought to water the roses in the front of the house, but just keep forgetting …
