Love that Chloe was able to relax outside now a large amount of hefty garden work has been done for her 😀
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Humph ….
😂😂😂😂😉❤️She actually came in at 9pm last night so we could lock her in 😊 She went out like a spring at 6.15am when I got up and then came back for breakfast, twice before 9am 😊 Mayabe she does remember we are her Hoomans …? 🤔
No wildfire smoke today so first load of washing is on the line and the second should be ready to go out shortly. Plants from yesterday are in the ground, just need mulching (leaving them to dry off a bit first). Then I want to go around the whole garden and pick up every dead pot or otherwise piece of junk and sort them - I can feel a wheelbarrow coming on … 😊
There are some gaps in the sit spot border where things have died in the heat that the last of the potted up dahlias night slip into, possibly, maybe. Toscos are on their way and then I have the 161st local garden society show to go to this afternoon 😊

Stripey cat has come in today and is asleep on my bed, but I expect will vanish when my mum's visitors start arriving as they have to go upstairs which means she doesn't feel safe there. I'm going to wash the bedding on the spare bed so that doesn't smell of strangers. She was out all night, but hopefully fewer people in the house and cooler weather might make the house more appealing for her.

When male colleagues say a woman is 'bossy' what they usually mean is she is showing strong leadership, giving direct orders and speaking up for herself. You're not bossy - you just have better ideas.
From one bossy woman to another 😁

Thank you for that 😊
Got the new plants I picked up yesterday in the ground 😊

Having cleared all the dead pots around the garden (I’m going to have to be far more organised and thoughtful about where to have pots in future) this morning I was again sad to see my Lewisia had died too …
However, I found a new one, reduced to £1.50 at the garden society show this afternoon. Already potted up 😊

After a discussion with Mr KK about timings we have finalllllly booked our 20th wedding anniversary meal, only three months late! 🤣 We have booked it to coincide with a social event in the chapel tent that includes the dreadful band that used to practice in there on Tuesday nights … 😉
Mr KK has also reminded me that his mum gave us an envelope for our anniversary (my parents didn’t even notice it … 🙄🤷♀️) which we haven’t opened yet, but is likely to contain cash so this meal will be subsidised, which is rather nice 😊

Agree with @Fortune_Smiles, bossy is an insult, would never dream of calling a female colleague that. It is reserved for the odd occasion where Mrs E and I are arguing/mock arguing.

This is spot on. I once received feedback that I was too decisive. I asked for clarification on what that meant in practical terms, and it led to a load of waffle. I went away thinking he didn't know how to deal with a strong woman.

To be fair, they didn’t use that exact wording, but that was the gist of it.
There are interviews for a new GM happening this week so hopefully after they appear (in the new year now, maybe, due to notice periods?) I will be able to step back and focus on what I’m trying to do.
More wet cat food ordered for Mistress Chloe. She is a fussy little beast. Very limited on her format of food and what she thinks are appropriate flavours! 🙄😂 If she stops liking these varieties then we will be in trouble … Ordered enough to avoid shipping costs and via TCB 😊KK

There’s definitely an element of that happening here. The problem is, I think, is that they have all worked where we are, all their careers so don’t know any different or more challenging or better run working environments. So when I come along with all my inherent expectations and habitual behaviours from other working environments, I think it makes them uncomfortable, especially when I expect the same of them. Please note I’m not saying I’m better than them, just used to working in a more detailed, fast per paced and more accountable environment.
As I said in my reply to Ed, the new GM will come in soon and hopefully will set new norms of behaviour for all of us, which will probably be somewhere in between 😉
