Hi @KajiKita my visitors for the week have now left and life is slowing returning to its normal pace once again.

So nice to catch up on your thread. My garden is also in much need of some tlc. Thankfully we have had overnight rain for the past couple of days which has perked things up a little. I have been fighting a battle with flea beetles this year, which appear to love my nasturtiums and brassica plants, leaving some of their leaves looking like lace. It is not something that I have come across before, but after a quick internet search, it was evident that they are particularly prevalent this year due to the weather conditions. Just had to add that your description of you wafting around in a huge kaftan and flip flops brought to mind Margo in The Good Life 😂 Those tomatoes look absolutely delicious, nothing like a ripe homegrown tom still warm from the sun. It has a been an intense week. Monthly Management meeting with Regional Director (he's promised to make a decision about a new MD by the end of the week …), a day long technical assessment with TWO assessors (one retiring, the other taking over) who were both asking, different, questions and then a day long H&S audit, again with two assessors ….

I am both shattered and wired. The latter not helped by a row that kicked off in the morning meeting today where one of the managers complained (legitimately) that they were being constantly excluded or forgotten about for meetings they should have been involved in by the acting MD. The manager has been making their point via steadily more pointed quips for some time and I have mentioned this issue to the acting MD, but acting MD made the mistake of brushing it off this morning … Up goes Manager …! 💥I suggested they take it outside, but no, they kept going in front of everyone. In the end I just gathered up my notebook and paperwork and left. 🤷‍♀️🙄

Mr KK is away this weekend, until late Sunday afternoon, so I am going to try and do a bit of a digital detox and really limit, phone, tablet and TV use this weekend. Off to the library for new books after work, so that should help 😊

I have been doing some fascia release exercises this week (or as many as I can do that don't involve my shoulders too much) and I think I am already starting to see some effects. Done 5 days back to back so far, by the time Mr KK gets back it should be 8 days - not quite enough to become a habit but getting close. Also got out for a walk after dinner last for the time in c. 3 months and put Cl@ssic Eff Emm Calm on and did 4 rows of knitting - I know 4 rows doesn't sound like much - but as I am knitting 'up' a shawl it is getting wider and wider as I go on! 😊

Thanks PiP. Interestingly the manager came and spoke to me later about it (and other things) but the acting MD didn’t. I think I’m going to have to speak to acting MD as they need to apologise and own to what they’ve done, whether it was intentional or not. If the notice period of the new person coming in is six months, ain’t no way we’re going to survive another six months of this! 😳🙄😂😂

Anyway, back to what really matters to me 😊

+ Managed a long slow, lazy wake up this morning. Felt like a real luxury bit to have to leap out of bed instantly. I thought Chloe might have been upset at the late start, but she was yawny-yawny-stretch-stretch when I came downstairs so she was okay too 😊
+ Got my second wash on the line and have started off Mr KK’s wash (isn’t that nice of me, whilst he’s gadding about in France and playing in planes etc …! 🙄😂😉❤️)
+ Rang sutt0ns about the spring bulbs delivery that is meant to have happened. It hasn’t shown up here! There was no photo of the delivery so they are sending the whole order out again.
+ Put away all the printed recipes in the folder I use and finished going through the new recipe book I picked up a couple of weeks ago, making a list of recipes I want to try.
+ Done my finances update - groceries are already overspent and there is another weekly shop to go … 😳 I will see how much we can eat from stores next week 🤞

The rest of the weekend was very chill …

Read two books, planted some plants (Salvias and Penstemons), watered, did more washing, made two batches of soup for work lunches so I can have variety, cancelled a CPD / counselling sub I don't want any more.

Mr KK came back late last night (midnight-thirty I think) so I was away in the land of ZZZs by then. He did finally, manage to get his Spitfire flight in (it had been delayed due to issues with the plane battery dying way sooner than usual due to the hot weather this summer) and absolutely LOVED it! The pilot that took him up did one Loop-the-Loop to see how Mr KK would cope with it and when it was clear Mr KK was fine, just let rip. His pilot, is known by the group that sells these flights, as being someone who flies these planes 'like he stole it'!! 🫨 It really couldn't have gone any better 💖 I expected him to sleep in today, but no, he had a wake up call from Chloe (who'd definitely missed Her Best Hooman) and was so wired still, he was out of bed and downstairs super early! I knew he was a bit anxious-excited-nervous about the whole thing, as he rang me just before he got into the flying suit to tell me he loved me …. 😉🤣🤣 Bless him.

I am so, so, so pleased for him that it actually happened and it was so very, very good. That will keep him going for a while 💖

Oh, as an aside, the bulbs turned up for me 😊

Awww, they don't grow up, they just get bigger. It's lovely he had a good time. Imagine having to wait all that time and then being disappointed? Glad it happened for him.
