Aaaaand today / this week gets better and better …
Got interrupted during my lunch break by the Occ Health nurse, who is in this week checking on everyone, to take me into a room to speak to an employee with a known heart condition, who's had 2 serious angina attacks, when at rest, that their medication hasn't touched at all, within 1 week. Ended up sending / taking them home, speaking to their spouse and advising that they can't return until confirmed fit for work by their GP.
I'm constantly getting pushback from 2 other (male) managers that I am being too bossy and acting like I am in charge (acting GM is on leave this week and these 2 just drift …) , they are ganging up on me somewhat … One of them appears in my office this afternoon as we have an issue with the security system and he wants my back up, agreement, support, guidance etc. with how to respond … Make your minds up guys! 🙄
Roll on hometime, though at 30C already I can't say I'm looking forward to going home much ….

Our weather forecast has just changed to 37 for tomorrow (it is merely 32 here right now). EMR have cancelled their trains due to the tracks being too hot. People are not making good decisions, it is silly weather now. Don't expect too much sanity out there KK

It’s been okay the past couple of days - I have completely stepped back and left them to it. They seem happier 🤷♀️
Ooof, what a week. Sooooo hot. 🥵 There hasn’t been much cooking here this week! 😂 Tonight is a chippy tea as we are both shattered.
Landscaper has been here and the huge, messy clump of shrubs has been cut back, lilac and fuchsia shrubs pruned, various volunteer trees removed as well as various up-wellings of the dreadful, horribly thorny, non-flowering rootstock rose that was running through the bed of the Japanese Maple. There were also two hawthorns that were getting away - both hoicked out 😊 He emptied the dead holly bush out of the pot that I had kept and nurtured for over a decade - I cried when I found that last night when I was watering. He’s taken all the arisings away with him and charged me £152.50 - worth every penny I think. I tried to give him a full day’s work to do, but he’d done it all by lunchtime! 😂 He was grateful for the early finish though 😊
I will have him back in the autumn / winter to sort the compost bins and to cut back the veg patch hedge and reshape the Japanese maple that was butchered a couple of years ago and still needs some TLC.The bed he has focused on today, I will run some spring bulbs through - there are already snowdrops in there so adding crocus and narcissus will make it perty…! The dying bulb foliage will then be hidden by the shrubs leafing up. 😊 Should work well.
I may have, accidentally, fallen into the plant centre on my way home from work and found two gorgeous salvias and a penstemon for the front of the bed by the mower garage that I edged last week … <ahem> … 😉 Then that will be it, promise! 😂

I fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon again! Chloe appeared at one point (yes, actually INSIDE the house!!! 😂) and dozed off on the opposite end of the sofa. When Mr KK got home she mugged him for some tea and then retired to her garden chair … ❤️
