The shed seems quite big inside now and you can love around in there without fear of breaking an ankle! 😉
The things people get up to in their sheds this hot weather ! 😳
😀🤣

Sorry to hear about your dad's weaker areas @KajiKita. You have done extraordinarily well to build a happy, rounded life that doesn't reflect your parents' views. Love Humdinger xx

Glad to give you a smile @daisy_1571, @Brewerspride, @BeachSiren 😉😊
Thank you @Humboldt, but I suspect you give me a little too much credit. I haven't been that happy of late thanks to endless heat and shoulder pain … 😉
Just catching up with myself here.
Seaweed meal arrived last night so dosed the greenhouse, my pots and a couple of special plants here and there. It will be interesting to see how effective it is … 🤞 I have quite a few mid sized tomatoes that need harvesting. I will use some in the salad we are planning for peak hot weather on Wednesday, but I'm not sure what to do with the rest in the short term.
Then watered everywhere pretty thoroughly, cooked tea, prepped all the food for today etc.
After that lot, got outside again in the coolth to dead-head, which was a pleasant task to do on two lavender plants 💖, and thinned the apples on my favourite dessert apple tree. Bit late for the latter task, but but better late than never and if we get some rain between now and end of September we should get a half decent crop. 🍎
Finished the very complex novel. Not sure I fully understood it all but I think 🤔 it had a happy ending. I suspect that I should re-read it but I don't think I can face it! 🤣 New library books now needed on Friday 😊
Chloe came in at 9.30pm and then got frustrated because she got locked in 😉 We went to bed happy because WE knew she was safe …. 🤷🏻♀️💖
EDIT: Landscape gardener has been in touch this morning to confirm that he understand the P/Point I sent him of the works I want done in the garden 😊

I have also contacted my therapist to say good bye (and thank you 😊) and then the hosting website BetterH3lp to ask for a refund of the monies they have taken that I haven't spent on sessions … Not holding my breath but am 🤞
I have emailed the therapist outside of the website now so if I need to, I could have private remote sessions with him in future.
I feel better for having made and acted on that decision.

B3tterh3lp have been in touch asking me if there is anything they can do to support me with the App, the counsellor etc etc. I have replied no and they then explained how to cancel my membership. I have done this. Now waiting to see what refund I will get … 🤞
Today is gonna be hot and sticky; 28C with high humidity (pretty grim), so I hard boiled eggs last night for a salad tea tonight and picked my first medium sized tomatoes (505g) from the greenhouse to go in the salad 🍅😊 Not sure what else I will use them for … Only halloumi to 'cook' for me to generate heat tonight 😊 We need an early tea this evening as Mr KK has his best mate coming round for A Planning Meeting for their France trip in August (they need to decide where to go, what to see, which brocantes to attend etc etc - all very critical stuff …. 😉)
Spent quite a lot of time editing down R1verford recipes to fit on single pages and printing them out. I am going to sort them into seasons (the lentil and mushroom with greens mash pie is definitely a winter one! 😉) and see which ones I want to prioritise for trying this weekend.
Sad memory from childhood surfaced last night (all around having to learn French theory and a dance sequence for ballet exams and left to do it on my own and therefore consistently failing, as at 8 years old and on, I had NO idea what I was doing … 🤷🏻♀️). I think that is why my self confidence was so low going into early adulthood and my motivation to help others with things I find easy or have hard worn knowledge of, but they struggle with (writing essays, reading, expressing themselves, getting out of debt etc.) is so high.
Tried to think of good memories from my childhood, just as an exercise. Quite a lot with my dad came up easily (pottering with his cars, him teaching me to read when I fell behind, planting daffodils, going to the lab on Sunday mornings when he had to refill the liquid nitrogen cryostats, being patched up by him when I fell over in the garden etc etc), zero for my mum … 😉🤷🏻♀️Started reading a book about growing food in a climate change resilient garden whilst waiting to get back to the library for more novels. Rather topical! 😉
Chucked a new mattress topper on my bed that is said to be cooler than the typical. I did manage 5 hours before waking at 3.30am and then managed to doze off again, so maybe there is something in it … 🤞

I think I understand the mother/father divide on memories.
Many of my mom 1-1 with me are not nice. Her pushing me away when I was falling asleep and leaning on her on a long car drive (pre seat belts and bucket seats and me being the smallest sat on the front seat with parents, dad driving). Her getting so upset with me about something (can't remember what) that she picked up my ChattyCathy doll (pull a string and it would speak) and smashed it down on the floor. Her anger about a lot of things - which bothers me mostly as I see the same anger in myself at times.
My dad was the one with the jokes and playing, making elaborate plasticine villages, helping us (or mostly my brothers) build model planes that he then strung from fishing line above the stairs to make an elaborate dog fight. But eventually I noticed that there was the difference between what he was willing to do with my brothers and eventually discovered just how male and misogynistic he was. How proud he was of his sons and their achievements while mine were just a "whatever". But I also see a lot of him in me too - but I'm hoping it's mostly the good bits.
A lot of it is the basic male/female divide on parenting in my opinion - women raise children, men babysit. I think that cycle is breaking now when I see how well my brothers do with their kids.

Finished editing down the R1verford recipes and printing them. I have quite a few for now and separately for winter to try 😊 The non-cook tea worked well and even Mr KK enjoyed it (salad to him never feels like a 'proper' meal …. 😉).
Packed up my library books and brought them downstairs to remind me to change them tomorrow.
Watered, everywhere …
Did some Bird-Dogs and another core strength improving exercise as I need to start getting back into being active again … Also did a dead-hang session for my shoulders - the pain moves around every day 🤷🏻♀️🙄
Added the tomatoes I harvested to the produce tracker and my signature 😊
Tuned out Mr KK fretting about his trip - the wife of his friend may / may not have a significant heart issue. She is having tests the day before Mr KK and friend can cancel the accommodation for their trip. Mr KK loathes the wife of his friend and so is both frustrated and conflicted. I know it sounds mean tuning him out, but it was 30 minutes before I was due to go to bed and I just couldn't take it on at that point …
Did some shawl knitting for the first time in a while - lovely colour therapy 💖 Followed by an insistent, non-negotiable, Chloe-Cwtch 😉
Today I have cancelled my subs for the Gluc0se G0ddess glucose absorption tablets as I have waaay more than I need atm. I note that B3tterh3lp have not replied again since I said I want to cancel my membership and a refund please … I will have to keep an eye on that. Payday tomorrow and my payslip has landed - no exciting extras but no cuts either 😉

Had £240 back from BH but I would like the subs back for a second unused month so have asked … You never know 🤷♀️
Moved stuff for charity shop run tomorrow and library books to the car 👏
Did some more bird-dogs, core work, hip abductions. Feels good to be doing a bit again 😊 Did a dead hang for a short time.
Spent 30 minutes in the garden after dinner doing some (very!) rough clearing of the broad beans and bindweed top growth. Filled three huge builders trugs and wandered off to the compost heap with them. Then gave that patch a really good soaking so I can hopefully plant something in there tomorrow.
Fresh linen on the bed 🤩❤️KK
