Go for it! I've seen a few people enjoying Prolific this week, so try to make hay whilst the sun shines!Tattypud said:Going to leave myself a big note for tomorrow
On a more positive note, my energy supplier has credited my account with £50 for poor service received which I am not adding to the total at the moment but in a few months I will see what credit is left and transfer it.
Result on the energy supplier, though shame we have to endure such shocking service!
In other news, having not done any mystery shopping for a loooong time - I've signed up for some tomorrow. And I HATE it!!! So I'm going to give my overdraft a big long staring at to remind myself, this is my penance for getting into another mess with my money. Eurghhhhhh.
I'm always in it. It's just the depth that varies.Immediate Problem: Overdraft: £752.59 * Paypal £671.07 * Creation £592.74 = £2,016.04Phase 1: Vanquis CC £4100.11 * Tesco CC £3996.60 * Capital One CC £3800 = £11,896.71Phase 2: Zopa Loan: £12,7552 -
OOOOOH! Just saw TSB is back on the switching deal!!"You can't have had a switch bonus from TSB since 1 2022."

Hi, thanks so much for running this ❤️
I’ve been told this morning I’m due an unexpected chunky tax refund. Before I set my target, can I include this in it? Oh go on 🤣😇
What do you reckon? 🤗

YESS!!! Literally do what feels good for you! We're not imposing rules that everyone has to abide by here - whatever money comes in / or is saved as others have done... Do it your way!

I was not expecting you to come back with £25-A-Day!! But go for it if you think it's doable!! And even if it's not - a bit of optimism doesn't hurt here!! Well done on a good start - it'll be great to see if you can keep up that momentum. I'm always in it. I've have a great week myself actually! I'm pretty pleased with myself, but trying to not get caught up in the feeling that I've got all this extra money. Caught myself looking at all sorts of things I can't afford today... holidays...cars... you name it, I've Googled it. I've wound my neck back in now though thankfully and totted up my debts again to remind myself, I've got to get this sorted. Punished myself with a bit of evening mystery shopping - had a very bizarre experience and am itching to tell someone about it, but can't!! Mystery shoppers code an all that

Here's my Week 2 totals:Prolific £14.41 Xmas gift refund £49.66 Prolific £10.38 Faulty gift refund £40.00 Lotto cards £21.00 Prolific £35.56 Prolific £13.27 M&S Vouchers £8.00 Tu return £22.50 Week 2 Total: £214.78 / £70.00
January Total: £295.97 / £310.00
2026 Total: £295.97 / £3650.00
More mystery shopping tomorrow. Got some cash waiting in Prolific and a load in TopCashback which I'm hoping will become payable in the next couple of weeks. Plus some bank switching cash lined up for Nationwide which I already switched, going to hit Lloyds next week, and then will see if TSB is still on mid February. Prolific will slow down for me as I actually do need to focus on my full-time job, so will really only be early mornings, lunch times and evenings for the rest of the month.
Haven't needed to get on vinted yet, and will try to avoid if I can. I hate selling stuff more than mystery shopping.
Hope you've all had a good week! Look forward to seeing how everyone else has gotten on, and please do make sure you share any tips and good news to help everyone else out too! If anyone is struggling with options, let me know - I'll try to help

Hahaha yeah — thank you — my thoughts exactly. 🤗Woah!! Steady on girl!!

I might change my target in about erm, February, if it starts to look more out of reach/unrealistic/ridiculous!The tax payout puts a big dent in my final yearly target, so I need to aim lower than £25 to get there.I’m keeping it in to push me on. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I had an earlier MSE account and am sooooo chuffed to see this challenge back - thank you 💐
Could put it towards new teeth 🤣🤣1 -

A good tip (I’m sure there’s a report about this on the main MSE forum) is to make sure you use your new Nationwide current account asap, making payments and putting money in, as activity on the account in the first three months of the year is what earns you a possible (some would say likely) £100 loyalty payment from Nationwide around May time. My partner gets one each year but I don’t
if you’re opening a new Club Lloyds account its perks can really add up as well, I get Odeon cinema tickets, can’t remember how many.
I’m not on Vinted, but have things listed on Oliio — mad cheap things from around my flat to be fair, but it all adds up, alongside eBay.0 -
Some things I’ve done to get a little extra as year goes on:
Signed up for 2 Cahoot savings accounts for £25 a time on TCB.
signed up for Greggs app, you immediately get a reward of any hot drink before the end of the month for having the app. Hot chocolate is £1.20/£1.60 I signed up to get a birthday freebie, and that’s next month.Reactivated a Costa app (only signed up years back as there was one at a previous job.) did this to get birthday treat in a couple of weeks.
signed up for Burger King app for free Whopper around my birthday 🤣
checked out other fast food apps and no joy on immediate freebies…🤦🏻♀️
Seems to be a theme here…Decided not to sign up for Lidl app for free doughnut on my birthday…
edited to add, I won’t be getting these on my actual birthday hopefully but can spend voucher/offer for around a week I think.
Picking up various bakes and fresh eggs from Olio tomorrow. I won’t include these savings towards my target but might keep a tally alongside it. 😇1
