Hi everyone, you all are doing so well and thanks for posting your ideas - I've noted a few more down to try  :)

Can't wait to hear about the mystery shop @MissMoneyMishap, sounds very intriguing  :)

At the end of week 2 my overall total is £176.00
    Vinted: £46.00
    Compensation from energy firm: £50.00
    FB Marketplace: £80.00

I'm very happy as I didn't think I would get anywhere near this. My problem is staying motivated and I find being a part of this group very helpful for this.

I also have quite a bit pending so not counted just yet but it adds up to £208.33:
Topcashback: £137.83 - this was boosted by the Cahoot savings accounts (£25 an account x 2)
Shop and scan: £48.50 (waiting until I scan this weekend to hit the £50)
Testerbuddy: just short a few points for a £10 voucher
    Market research: £12.00

Really need to get myself motivated this weekend to get more on Vinted and to restock my Etsy shop. Someone please give me a kick!

  • Woah!! Steady on girl!!  :D I was not expecting you to come back with £25-A-Day!! But go for it if you think it's doable!! And even if it's not - a bit of optimism doesn't hurt here!! Well done on a good start - it'll be great to see if you can keep up that momentum.
Hahaha yeah — thank you — my thoughts exactly. 🤗

I might change my target in about erm, February, if it starts to look more out of reach/unrealistic/ridiculous!

The tax payout puts a big dent in my final yearly target, so I need to aim lower than £25 to get there.

I’m keeping it in to push me on. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

I had an earlier MSE account and am sooooo chuffed to see this challenge back - thank you 💐

Could put it towards new teeth 🤣🤣

It definitely is doable at £25-A-Day for anyone who has the time and energy for it, or anyone who is in a position to get some easy/big wins in, so go for it!!

I'm preparing for my own early success to dwindle now as I know I'm going to have less time, and once I've done the easy wins.... I don't know if I'll keep it up! But I'm going to give it go - if the bank switches all come around again for me this year, I definitely could.

Look forward to hearing about your new gnashers!!  :#

I'm always in it. It's just the depth that varies.

    Immediate Problem: Overdraft: £752.59 * Paypal £671.07 * Creation £592.74 = £2,016.04
    Phase 1: Vanquis CC £4100.11 * Tesco CC £3996.60 * Capital One CC £3800 = £11,896.71
    Phase 2: Zopa Loan: £12,755

  • Some things I’ve done to get a little extra as year goes on:

Signed up for 2 Cahoot savings accounts for £25 a time on TCB.

signed up for Greggs app, you immediately get a reward of any hot drink before the end of the month for having the app. Hot chocolate is £1.20/£1.60 I signed up to get a birthday freebie, and that’s next month.

Reactivated a Costa app (only signed up years back as there was one at a previous job.) did this to get birthday treat in a couple of weeks.

signed up for Burger King app for free Whopper around my birthday 🤣

checked out other fast food apps and no joy on immediate freebies…🤦🏻‍♀️

Seems to be a theme here…Decided not to sign up for Lidl app for free doughnut on my birthday…

edited to add, I won’t be getting these on my actual birthday hopefully but can spend voucher/offer for around a week I think.

Picking up various bakes and fresh eggs from Olio tomorrow. I won’t include these savings towards my target but might keep a tally alongside it. 😇

Ha! Definite theme - I'm wondering how many birthdays we could each have?! It's mine next week, so Costa have already been on to let me know I can get my treat. I found yesterday that free hot drinks are really handy for writing up your mystery shops. I got my McDs hot chocolate in between two so I could enter one before doing the next. It also made the writing up task less overwhelming, which is my real issue with mystery shopping! I'm good at the action bit...but the admin bit... no. Not for me.  :D

Some good tips here, thanks! I think that @Hollie_Hobbie had m@Hollie_Hobbie had mentioned Cahoot on TCB as well? Was that you, Hollie? I would have never thought to look for things like that on TCB!

    :)

    AMAZING!! Great work @Tattypud.

I'm noting a few of your ideas down too! Going to try the shop and scan. Do you have a referral code for any of these? I'm not on Shop and Scan, Testerbuddy... or anything like that!!

I completely agree about the motivation coming from being in a group. On my own, I might earn extra money, but it just went into the rest of the money, so even if I did, it didn't mean anything because I wasn't purposefully accounting for it and using it where I needed it.

Look - consider this your kick!! If you get your shizz on Vinted, I promise I will get onto Vinted as well. (I really need to! It gives me anxiety, but I have got so much to sell and I really need the money!!)   :D

@MissMoneyMishap - Shop & Scan haven't done referrals for quite a while and I don't think they are taking on new panellists at the moment but you I can see on the website that you can apply to join their other panels. Here's the link, click on 'Register' and then a new panel link should show.

I've allocated myself an hour tomorrow to put more stuff on Vinted and an hour to load some makes on Etsy!

You should definitely give it a go, even if you just try listing one thing a day

Belated check in and I realise I missed something mega at the beginning of January!

First, this week (10-16 January) I made:

    Prolific: £10.50
    Nectar price savings: £11.65
Chase cash-back: £0.36? Not 100% sure as the app keeps crashing  :(

    Total for week: £22.51

    Now for my MASSIVE oversight:

At the beginning of the month I cashed in £276 worth of Avios!!!

So my recalculated total for the month and year are:

    January Total: £306.29/£310

    2026 Total: £306.29/£3,650
