I do feel I'm moving things from room to room but at some point there should be more space.
Dd2 doing crafts with friends so using up stocks and im trying to use up things.18 -
Cleaner has been today. I ran out of time so had to fill some boxes and put them in the car just so she could find some surfaces and floor to actually clean. I am loving my bedside table being clear of the pile of books so will put them on the bookshelf in the other room instead. Also, the kitchen is so much nicer with a clear worktop and no box just inside the door.
Will get boxes out of the car tomorrow. Will take my time going through them so I get rid of as much as possible.
Removed some papers from my car file which have gone into recycling.
ETA deleted lots of photos and text messages from my phone. Loads more to do but at least I have made a start.19 -
@_Dolly_Rocker_ Yay, well done. The first of many 😃
@Florenceem Aww, it's really hard losing someone and takes a long time to adjust. Sending you big hugs xx
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Our posties normally very good. I'm just glad I didn't pay for the collection, although the email said I could get a refund. But as I went through eBay I didn't need to.
@FrugalFalafel Fantastic news on the house sale. Good luck for the actual moving in day.
First day back in the office, so hard getting out of bed! I came home and promptly fell asleep in front of the telly 😆
Work went well. On Thursday's we have a community store that sets up. I've been with them for a couple of years now and you can get a small shop for £7 (used to be £4 when I first joined). It's all voluntarily run and for the most part you get a lot of things. I got a huge pineapple, leek, swede, squash, potatoes, carrots, oranges, broccoli, bread, French stick, tin of beans, tomatoes, soup. bottle of hand soap, sanitary towels, pasta. This helps with trying to keep the food shop down. DH still needed to get milk, salad stuff, meat and other bits (mainly his wine and my Prosecco
).
I find that the veg does last a long time. The squash will be made into yummy soup for me and DD and we'll have the French stick to dip in it, if it hasn't been eaten by then.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £78,465.64 April 2037Swagbucks ~ £10 (2025 ~ £240)Surveys~ £20.29 (2025 ~ £238.94)Make £2026 in 2026 #18 ~ £0 ~ (2025 ~ £2,368.64)2026 Decluttering Campaign ~ 29/202617 -
I wanted to see if I had some fabric for a new project and ended up with all of it spread out in the lounge (far too much!) I weeded out some fat quarters to add to my pile for the CS. I found what I was looking for and then resorted everything in a more logical (to me) order. It is taken up a little less space now it's reorganised. I have put some in a pile to think about whether I could find use for it, I will put together some odds and ends again for one of my sister's play therapy children and will include some of the beads, buttons etc

Thank you for our medals Mrs SD, you are the one who deserves a medal. Your dedication is second to none. <3Can't find a medal emoji so have a heart instead. Ooo, I never thought to use different colour pens on my to do list, what a good idea.

Bought 6 shoe box sizeish boxes to fit on the shallow shelves in the wardrobe.
I have done NOTHING today, my cold is worse than ever, now with razor blade throat. Every night I think it'll be better tomorrow. Nope.Actually I have done something. Squeezed some daffodil bulbs into an old teapot for decorative purposes, as you do.
If I am still rough tomorrow I will just fill my new storage boxes. I may buy more if they work ok. I could go through the pile of stuff my Mum gave me, or just stick it in a storage box and ignore it.
Florenceem, you are doing so well. I don't have any advice to offer you but when Mr V's previous wife passed away he was overwhelmed. His bank had a bereavement worker who Mr V found invaluable. It is just the worst time to have to do important things but people will be understanding. I know you are a grafter but as others have said some things can wait.xxx

Sending love to @Florenceem take your time, I didn’t need a will when my parents died and a lot was online hopefully it won’t be too difficult. Impressive decluttering drone everyone and @Liverpool_Anne you are going some on the cleaning!
I scanned a boxful of books for WoB and I’ve got an unwanted present parcelled up both parcels in the car to drop off on my way home tomorrow morning. Looking forward to a week off and hopefully get some routines back on track and get some rest in19 -
Hi all, reasonable day today but my back was a bit creaky so didn't get as much done as I planned. I finished cleaning the picture rail, tops of the doors and the moulding on the 5 doors on the landing but didn't hoover the stairs, maybe tomorrow or maybe next week now 😂. Another rag binned. Today was bedroom day so changed the bed, hoovered the matress and rotated it, can't turn it as it has a memory foam topper attached. I am considering getting a new matress as it's about 10 years old now and starting to get a bit saggy. The next one will have a detachable topper 😂, lesson learned. I recently invested in a new flat sheet, the bed is from the swedish shop and is slightly bigger than a standard double so the fitted sheets I have persist in popping off a corner during the night and driving me crazy 😁. As there is nothing wrong with the sheets, just too small, I can pass them on to my friend whose church collects things to help homeless people who have been found accommodation. I also had a bit of a look in the airing cupboard and have found 2 more sheets that can go after I have given them a quick wash to freshen them up a bit 😁. Anyway 2 LDFPA from the maiden and 2 loads put on 😁. Some bits of carp binned but not enough to fill a bag yet 😂 so not counted.
Had to pop to the sm for bread, milk and bananas, normally I have a stock in the freezer but as I am trying to defrost it I am having to buy every few days which is a bit of a nuisance but needs must 😁.
The kitchen bin and kitchen recycling were emptied and as I can sit down to do it and ease my back 2 sessions of ironing were done after tea 😁. I feel I am winning with the ironing as nothing that came off the maiden today needed ironing 😂.
Also a travel size shampoo uu and as it is bathroom day tomorrow I have got a head start on that 😂.
@weenancyinAmerica love the story about collecting euros from abandoned trolleys 😁
@Mrs SD good news neither Mr SD or Dsis needed treatment 😁. Glad your new trackies are keeping you warm 😁
@daisy_1571 thanks for that, I have looked at the websites previously but didn't follow up as some of the books didn't have ISBN numbers, no idea why, and the whole posting thing confused me but when I get a minute I will definitely give it a go. I usually offer any books to my dsis first and any she doesn't want take to the bookcase at the local railway station 😁.
@Vulpix hope the scan went ok and the cold improves soon hugs. As for being on fire I think it's the thought of having to sort space to set up a makeshift kitchen that is driving me, long may it last 😁.
@_Dolly_Rocker_ well done on the mortgage OP, hope you're tracking it somehow, I have read a few blogs where people have colour charts etc so they can see how far they are getting. I felt so pleased with myself when I made the last mortgage payment 😁
@ladybird1106 it all helps 😁
@London_1 OH's Ddad used to say that things would see him out from the age of about 50, your comment did make me smile 😁
@Florenceem big hugs
@FrugalFalafel YAY, hope everything goes smoothly for you 😁. Boo to the sellers leaving a pile of rubbish for you to deal with, really not a nice thing to do.
@jivjules1 it needed to be done 😂
Right time for bed
Hugs to everyone who would like one
101 cleaning rag binned
102 kitchen bin
103 kitchen recycling
104 & 105 LDFPA
106 shampoo uu
Take care everyone

Florenceem - What a fiasco and fancy your builder not checking for leaks before leavingFlorenceem said:I don't think I have posted today - finding it hard to remember.
I was awake early so got up. I packed my shopping trolley with a bag of donations and walked into town. The girl I wanted to avoid because of how she gushes about Mr F hadn't started her shift.
I had to wait at the cold and blowy harbour for a bus.
Came home and while I had 2 cups of tea to warm me up - I got our SA uniforms packed in my trolley to take to the dry cleaners. Obviously I am having Mr F's uniform cleaned before handing it in. My uniform was preloved and never fitted me well. I have lost a lot of weight so will buy new formal SA uniform.
The vicar from our previous Church called with a card.
I had to wait in the cold again for a bus to the next town - our dry cleaners closed. On my way to the bus stop - I called in at a charity shop as they knew Mr F. They were shocked and sad. I nearly lost it when I was told that Mr F was always talking about me and how much he loved me.
After leaving the dry cleaners - again I was waiting for a bus. My LS was really hurting on the way home.
My builder friend arrived - what a palaver - the bit he had with him didn't fit so he went home to get something else. That was not fitting so he had to brave the traffic to visit a shop at the shopping outlet.
When he came back - it was with a 3 metre length of pipe + new sink parts - you can't buy a short bit which was what he needed. He was going into the garage for water and fell over the dodgy step and bent the metal strip - he had to bang it with a hammer before he left so I could close the door.
I had a door handle which was loose - I knew how to get hold of it - he knocked it on the floor - he did fix the handle before he left.
I went in the cloakroom to wash the floor after he left and thought the pipework was leaking.
When the floor dried - it was leaking so I rang him.
Now I still have a leak under the sink in the cloakroom with a towel on the floor. Friend thinks it leaks when the sink is used. We will have to liaise his return next week as I don't know when I will be out.
My daughter and granddaughter called with some food goodies for me.
That builder wore me out.
Builders always burn me out, even when they're doing a super job
Mine is popping over some time next week to have a look at doing a very simple job that will no doubt need my full input to the point of me needing to order a part(s) before he begins work
Decluttering HH chores as usual and as best as I can at the moment in between appointments and new RoboCop spine & neck brace fittings which I will admit are getting me down a little
but at least I have movement and can walk, albeit with limitations & communicate, so there's a huge bunch of God given mercy, grace, & blessings
My smallest spare bedroom is looking like a cluttered dumping ground at the moment, but only because there's 2 large black bin liners sitting on a small armchair & a dolly trolly full of items all for the charity shop none of which I'm not allowed to even think about rumaging through, let alone move! One of my neighbours will be popping over on Saturday to take the lot to the CS - bless them. My outside lighted Christmas angel & peace dove is coming along wonderfully; also being made in the same bedroom with materials everywhere, although the dove looks more like a pigeon / turtle dove, so I'm going to have to streamline it a little a lot - It's had far too much Chrissy pud, I think
I might need to get babyface to jump up an down on the dove to get it shaped correctly - She loves a good killer kangeroo session
Snapshots: That's all you're getting!

Obviously Babyface has been having the time of her life and has been into everything with a fascination for watching me cut, bend, and fix coat hangers; after she's selected them the right one's out of the pile because I'm obviously useless
I think Babyface thinks she's created, and put together the whole thing and I'm the helper; which sounds about right
The extra fun came when I was trying to attach the inner lights; which was physical torture, even when I was sitting dow, which I kept flashing on and off so babyface decided she needed to go into hunter mode ready to pounce!
Sometimes she acts more like a cat than a dog
We spent more time playing silly girl games and raspberry tummy kissing than me actually attaching anything light wise, but I did get there eventually!
What else do you do when it's chucking it down outside? The rain finally stopped this evening, so I decided that as it was late, I would take a very gentle walk with babyface to get some fresh air & declutter some time. I didn't get very far, but babyface pottered off to her favourite neighbour to say hello whilst we kept each other in sight
It was just nice to be outside for a while, other than going to almost daily appointments, but none tomorrow
and we shall be pottering about in the back garden in our PJ's not that I'll be doing much of anything except looking forward to decluttering some quality time with Babyface and having a look at all the wonderful Spring bulbs beginning to come up. Postie is also coming to collect 5 decluttering parcels; naturally piled in the hallway tonight of the remainng items I've been decluttering selling - Only 10 items left -whoop whoop. As I have nothing planned at the weekend, I'm going house accessory shopping in my own house - I love a good picture swap amoungst other things in the Spring
I might even swap the books around in the bookcase, which really is desperate I know
Time is getting late and I'm in need another mug of coffee before I venture off to bed. I'll try to carry on reading posts for a while. Meanwhile, take care all and well done to all those wonderful decluttering efforts - Ta-ta for now xxx# No.2 Save 1p A Day Challenge 2026 £118.34 / £667.95 (1)# No.4 Save £12k in 2026 £2454.88 / £12,000 (1)# No.4 £2 Savers Club 2026 - 25/12 - 24/10 £50 / £200 (1)# No.8 Sealed Pot Challenge 19 - 2026 - 24/12 - 24/10 £50+ / £400 (1)# No.5 Fiver Friday Challenge 2026 £40/£230 (1)# Make £2026 in 2026 £855.42 / £2026 (1)21 -

Currently working overseas @salad_dodger but will take a picture of the silk cushion covers when I get home
Love the list of 50 @Brie and yes like others #49 is too familiar (and something I am very much working on this year - "If you want a golden rule that will fit everybody, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." (William Morris, 1880( And if they can be both all the better!
So no physical decluttering but did do Diane of Denmark's challenge yesterday as was putting out all clothes for today and pack bag - it did of course make getting ready stress-free (good because 7am alarm and we're 4 hours ahead of time). This time also allows me to focus on how restful it is living in an uncluttered room with an uncluttered bathroom and do some mental imaginings of how I can improve home living.
I may have time to declutter emails but won't stress if I don't as I have 3 full days teaching plus evening meetings to discuss further work.20*25 for 2025: 489 / 50019
