2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Morning
Checking in for next year
I have three big tasks to do:
1) sort out the loft and remove all unnecessary things that have been kept up there.
2) get every one to move their clutter from my garage so that I can get to my clutter and remove that.
3) put everything into the crafting shed but sort it and label it as it goes in so that it will be organised and decluttered..
That is the hope for this year.

I'm in for this year. I've done some decluttering in the past but having lost a rechargeable battery for one of my outdoor security cameras I realise just how cluttered up the place actually is.
I'm also in the midst of a mental health downslide so dealing with emotional and mental trauma will feature in 2026 and I think that will also be improved by less "stuff" in my house and barn.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!27 -

Good morning,
Thanks for the thread Mrs S_D and also for being a constant source of support.
I've posted my 2025 total on the 2025 thread so here I am ready to declutter some more in 2026.No target in numbers, just that I want my house to look less cluttered and cupboards not to be full of tat when I open them.
Take care all of you 😊21 -
Hello, can I join please? I've started decluttering before but then stop and it seems to get worse than ever! I have alot of things I keep just in case, half finished projects that have been left lying around for years (sewing and crochet) and a sewing machine that I'm hardly using. I did start decluttering the loft last year but only made a small dent in it.
My intentions would be
A. Fully declutter the loft
B. Go through various crafty projects and either finish them or get rid. No buying more yarn or fabric until I have used what I have. Either use the sewing machine regularly or pass it along to someone who will.
C. Go through each room in the house and declutter
The shed needs decluttered as well and I need to figure out how to maintain things once I am done.
I have no idea how many items so will just log progress. Thank you for running the thread 🙂Frugal Living challenge 2026

Maybe start on the house first? If you start bringing more down without the house already being organised you are setting yourself up to feel like you've failed. If you get the house organised and running efficiently it will be easier to efficiently start on the loft in the nicer weather before it gets too hot up there?Quantaqa said:Hello, can I join please? I'd like to join again please. After some thought the plan for 2026 is to discard at least 12 more things than come in (I've found I do have to count the 'ins' or I can easily just end up with more than I started with).

I’d like to join. I don’t have any specific targets in mind - I’m mainly aiming for making my house more of a home and to make it work better for me and Mr KK. Some of that is decluttering but some will also be better storage options, making it easier to keep clean.A big one for me this year will be the office / craft cupboard. It’s full to bursting and I already know I don’t want to let anything go … 😉
In the garden I will be perpetually decluttering bindweed and brambles from my veggie patch … 🙄🤷♀️😉
I have decluttered a long standing ‘friendship’ toward the end of this year and I will be looking out for other ‘stones in my shoe’ that might need editing out of my life.KKAs at 15.12.25:

- OPs to mortgage = £12,881 Estd. interest saved = £6,203 to date
c. 16 months reduction in term
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030
