@suzeesu2000 I’m also in an official drought area too. The grass is straw however having bark chipped the front garden bed a couple of months back the hedge and flowering shrubs are (touch wood) having a lovely time and surviving well.
In the back garden the lilac trees, wisteria, shrubs etc are also well established and proving that leaving them to their own devices (and giving them the live or die option) works well.

Mrs SD thank you for dd2's medal - she will be pleased and hopefully motivated to do more.
Have some cleaning help this morning but can't do the space i wanted to deep clean as not sorted yet :( always happens. I get a slot every few months and ideally get help with things i find difficult !
Going to drop off cs bag and get cash .

I don't water plants after they have been planted. It makes them put down deeper roots to look for moisture. Unfortunately I do have to water pots. Only every 4 or 5 days though. I save the water we run before the hot water kicks in to help water pots. We are on a water meter.
6:30 am, yes 6:30 am the bunk bed mattresses were delivered.
The trundle bed is being collected today. I will ask them if they want the bed side table too. The bunk beds are wider and so no room for a bedside table.

Hi all, well I have had a busy couple of days but very little decluttered 😂. On Tuesday I worked on the urgent union thing and got it done and emailed off by 5 and then OH dropped in and we had a discussion about the kitchen.
On Wednesday I met up with my friend C whose son B we helped. I got a lot more information about B's mental health issues and a lot more understanding of why some things happened which will be useful in the future as I really feel C needs some respite and there just isn't anything out there that would be fit for purpose but I have said I would be happy to help so we shall see where that goes. We did have a lovely lunch though 😁.
Yesterday I met my friend E who I haven't seen for a while as she has been tied up with childcare after her youngest daughter returned to work from maternity leave and had to remove her baby from the nursery she had organised after a disturbing safeguarding incident. She has got a place in another nursery but it is not available until September so E has stepped into the breach as grandmas do 😁. again a lovely lunch at our local NT property and only left as they were closing the gates 😂. Really great to see her and catch up with all the news. She is waiting on knee replacement surgery as well so we are keeping everything crossed that the timings will work for her 😁. 100 emails deleted was all I managed after I got home 😂
This morning I have already dealt with another union thing that luckily requires no further action at this time so I can get back to some decluttering 😂. Going to head into the conservatory before the sun comes round and it gets too hot, although to be honest the weather here has been quite pleasant, sunny but with a cooling breeze so can't complain. As for the garden luckily we are not in a drought area but I only water the pots. I also work on the principle that plants have a choice once in the ground, live or die it's up to them and they seem to thrive. We are on clay here though which probably helps once they get their roots down. hugs
@Vulpix glad to hear Mr V is improving, hugs
Right time for another cuppa and then get something done 😁. Take care everyone.

On day 3 of low brain power due to normal for me fatigue. Decluttered blood at the docs this morning (routine) and half a packet of rich tea biscuits (oh dear) which I don’t even like but were recommended by hospital to have instead of fruit (have been put on low fat, low fibre diet which is definitely rubbing my fur up the wrong way as it cuts out all the foods I normally eat ie nuts, seeds, beans, oats, fruit and veg). I haven’t been near a piece of white bread yet but will have to soon, just to add in some variety.

30/52 - a packet of old and very poor quality photos out to the bin.
31/52 - a large, cracked and chipped ceramic bowl out to the bin and some glass dessert ramekins to recycling.
32/52 - an old, damaged dog toy out to the bin.

Evening all.
Tip run done today, yay!
Have a family event tomorrow afternoon so I have been busy making our contributions, including a huge quiche and two cheesecakes. Tomorrow I will be cooking sausage rolls and making coleslaw. It's a good job that I don't sleep well.
Kind thoughts to all.

Thanks for the medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. My poor DH decided to frighten the life off me last night; he just went to the bathroom and then there was an almighty bang. He lost his balance and knocked himself out on the radiator! Fortunately, he was only out for less than a few minutes - any longer and it would have been 111 or 999. I made him stay awake for a good couple of hours and he wasn’t feeling sick or having double vision. This morning he has a nice bruise on his forehead. Luckily, for him, he didn’t dent the radiator I’ve just decorated. Wonders if I should have sold his skid lids🤣😂
Have done all the scanning, filing and shredding and delivered shredding to friend who mixes them with other stuff (hay, straw I don’t know) for her hamster. Also gave her 2 Vinted sales to post for me as she is a gem! So, 2 pieces of packaging out as well.
Been a lovely peaceful day here today. I hope everyone else’s day has been good.
Have a great weekend all. Night night, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
