I have written a jobs list for tomorrow - 7 items again.

Funeral is likely to be August 11.

Dancer grandson J will be in London for rehearsals for the international tour of Chicago. His sister will be in Crete. I told my son to get the service videoed for those who can't be there.

Granddad R was saying that J was a bigger atheist than him. I believe that Mr F was there to welcome J into heaven.

The police are going to the house with J's personal effects tomorrow.

I am going up on Sunday and will stay probably until August 24th - the date I have a return rail ticket.

My head teacher daughter said that B can have 6 months off with full pay. B is a union rep at the school.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Wednesday continued: Wudupa. Put recycling wheelie bin roadside. DSis was so hot that she decided to have a cold bath.

Operation garage has continued.

After the old paint was used up, again roller was binned and I found a pack of sparklers. DD and i used them last night at home. We did have a bucket of water and hosepipe ready but was sensible enough to do it on concrete away from any grass or foliage and dropped them in the bucket of water. They are still soaking now in the garage and will be disposed of today.

My new job are requesting help with resources, so I have found loads of things that I used for teaching that I had bought and could be reused. They will be given on the 10th when I am next in.

I have a ton of charity items that are going to be given today.

Not a lot done yesterday. Two items uu and bottle and tin now in recycling - that’s it. Hoping brain power restored today but will only find out once I have a go.

Charity items have been donated. A small suitcase full, a bin bag and some old curtains in very good condition.

Morning all.

I have a painful finger - think I may have a thorn or splinter in it - it's my right hand so hurts to do anything. I will put a plaster on it - my mum always said - a plaster draws out anything.

Off out shopping soon.

I have added an eighth item to my list but one thing - a school blazer will be tackled tomorrow. T wants the sleeves lengthened. There is enough blazer fabric but I think I will need to add fabric to the lining. I will access the wrist part of the sleeve by going in the lining of the blazer. I don't think the blazer will last DGD for long as she is developing womanly curves.

I am trying to decide what to take with me to my son & dil - bestie says I need something to work on. I will probably be away for 3 weeks.

Thank you everyone, Mr V has walked to the bathroom with just noises and no swearing today so things must be better. I have told him his leg looks much better. It doesn't but a bit of trickery helps!

Small declutter: I have a glass display cabinet in my bedroom which housed a pile of admin on the top shelf (not the right place for it!); last night, I finally had 10 minutes to go through the pile, throw out about half, and relocate the other half. Now my collection of Little Cottage houses is on the top shelf, with a paper rose that was handmade by my ydd when she was 8.

I've been using ear plugs when swimming for at least 25 years. I had 1 pair that lasted until last year when I lost one - originally bright pink the cholerine, time etc had faded them to very pale so if dropped in a pool they became impossible to find. Popped into Boots a few months back and picked up new ones for £4 (I think) and was really pleased to find that not only did they come with their own little storage case but there was actually 2 pairs and each pair was joined by a long cord. Previously if I needed to take the ear plugs out I'd tuck them into my bathing suit. Now I can have them stung under one strap and then let them dangle when I'm not in the water or my OH insists on talking to me mid swim.
