dND, I do hope things ease up for you soon. It's so frustrating when you can't get on with stuff.
Mr V's leg is almost back to normal size, though still very red and hot. He has been in bed all day and I have cancelled our dentist appointments for tomorrow, as I think he should stay in bed a while longer. He says he is still in a lot of pain, I think he is a little better as there is slightly less swearing when he gets up to use the bathroom.
Being nurse and head cook and bottle washer has worn me out and left no energy for gardening or painting. I have done all the household jobs Mr V usually does today. I realise how much I depend on him to do stuff that involves walking, sadly difficult for me these days. Still we managed and had some interesting meals as we need a grocery shop. I think he will be more improved tomorrow as the antibiotics get to work.

Tuesday continued: DH has been busy in the garden 👏 First task was to repair the table top bed ✔️ then began the task of tidying & loading the car for a tip run. DH gathered together all the broken bits of crockery + the large cracked terracotta pot was broken into smaller pieces - filled a sack. DH then dismantled a wooden slatted tub which had rotted - filled another sack. Next he went round the garden gathering up broken plastic pots & general detritus - carrier bag full, small bag of metal bits & finally dismantled the old broken kettle bbq (freebie when last but one set of tenants moved out from next door - which is still empty 😞) counting as 10 most of which is going to Tip tomorrow (1249 - 1258)
1259 - 1266 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 2 cardboard boxes, booklet, 3 plastic takeaway containers - recycled
1267 - 1268 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
I have written all September & October birthday cards - a dozen cards 😊 We decided to have Chinese tonight so minimal washing up 🥳
Now back to cheerleading starting with page 420
Lovely cheerleading Moorviews ☺️ Excellent decluttering of clothing by both you & MrMV 👏 I am awarding you each a medal 🏅🏅 & am awarding you some 💐 for persuading MrMV to declutter 😊
GrannyKate, I am enjoying the conversation about decluttering men’s clothing as I rarely see men’s clothing in the CS I visit. Sadly most of my DH’s clothes are not fit to donate 😉 Great work with the holiday & Sox’s laundry 👏
surprisinglynice, sorry to hear that your Tip run was cancelled 😞 Yippee to the new front door - a great result especially as it was initially cancelled 🥳 Great work declut the coat racks 👏
Willowtree222, not sure we would cope with general waste only being collected every 3 weeks 😧 Excellent decluttering of larger items 👏
Excellent decluttering greent 👏
vulpix, I wouldn’t say you had done nothing (27th) you were busy taking care of MrV 🥹 Hopefully now that MrV has antibiotics & you are making him rest, he will start to get better 🙏 We have an all generations lunch planned for the 31st August - celebrating M & a couple of birthdays 🥹 Good luck with the painting 🍀
BlueJ94, the owl is gorgeous 🤩 Good luck with the flower painting 🍀
Yorkie1, nothing wrong with resting & building up your energy & mojo for a future prolonged bout of decluttering ☺️ Enjoy quizzes Monday 😊
EnergyShifter, well done on dealing with a mega frog 👏 & continuing the good work by dropping off the non functioning power-washer ☺️ & great work getting DS’s festival gear washed & dried 👏
Florenceem, you certainly had a busy Monday & got such a lot done 🤩 When I read This “A woman on holiday from the US called here on Tuesday - gave me a card. MrF helped her brother. When I opened the envelope - there was £500 in £20 notes. That has come in very handy.” I thought how wonderful - more proof, not that it was needed, of what a kind & generous man MrF was, how well thought of & how much he affected people 🥹
Excellent work BlueJ94 👏 Very impressed at your restraint re the skincare product ☺️ Hope you enjoyed your swim 🤞
Great decluttering Deb4 👏 & congratulations on the sales 🥳
Excellent & eclectic decluttering oceanspirit 👏
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏
Oops, got distracted then fell asleep 😱 but have caught up a little 😉 Sleep tight 😴

Went through all of the camping gear and made it more compact, a few bits out, I have room in the camping cupboard! This used to be the Christmas cupboard before camping became something that we tried and loved. Our first camping trip threw all of the weathers at us in a long weekend but we were hooked. I don't even want to think about the money that I have spent over the years but the DC's and DGC's have at least 3 trips planned every year using all of our gear so it has paid for itself many times over.
I just want to add a quick note here….I love this thread, there is so much kindness on here and no judgement and it is a joy to be a small part of it. Sincere Thanks to everyone who posts, who encourages others and who share words of wisdom and little tips and tricks. It really feels like a community..

Morning all. DGCs here but still in bed - probably on phones now but DGS4 was still asleep at 8.30. They played outside until late last night. It feels very muggy today.
I went on another lovely garden visit yesterday afternoon although like the rest of us they are struggling with hosepipe ban. @vulpix - sympathies with Mr V - I know from experience how painful cellulitis is.
753 Bag of courgettes given to me which I sliced, blanched and froze yesterday along with some rhubarb
754 Frog dealt with - simple task made complicated
755 Banking done post holiday - ouch
756 Stuffed toy and football shirt repaired and took the opportunity to sort the sewing box and throw stuff out
757 Booklet and bits for long gone sewing machine binned or recycled
758 Emails read, answered, deleted or stored - in box empty
759 Planted up some pots to go along renovated side area
DD just messaged to say she has booked our flights for Italy in July next year. I guess I ought to put some clothes on.

Brambling - I have lots of craft books - had some since the 1970s - Playschool and Teletubbies etc. They are like old friends. I no longer have a bookcase in my craft room. I bought some book ends for on top of the Ike. units but will need to cull my books.
vulpix - Mr F had Cellulitis quite a lot - he got really poorly with it - only time he stayed in bed until near the end of his life.
vulpix - yes our hubbies/partners do lots of jobs which we have to do when they are poorly or no longer with us.
MrsSD - yes Mr F was very well thought of - I was so Blessed to be his wife.
suprisinglynice - I agree - this is a lovely thread.
Last night I wrote a list of jobs that I want to do today. I need to keep busy - it is how I cope in hard times along with of course - my faith.
A DGD is away when the expected date of the funeral happens. I know that J's auntie has cancelled her holiday to Portugal. It is the time of year when holidays are taken by those involved in education which is quite a few of my family.

Painted the fences with leftover fence paint and that has now gone. The fences were so dry, they were just soaking in the paint.
Have offered some items to a school so they have been earmarked to go. That will create space on the shelf.

Nice little patio there Energy Shifter. A testament to the graft you put in.
Surprisinglynice, I couldn't agree more with your comments about this thread. I particularly value the no judgement.Everyone is so supportive to allcomers and those that are not soon realise that we won't tolerate anything else. We may not agree with everyone but we recognise their right to be accepted and supported.❤️ Mrs SD goes above and beyond to recognise everyone, no achievement goes unnoticed no matter how big or small.Thank you.Have some flowers Mrs SD.💐
Nurse Vulpix has decided to leave Mr V in bed. His leg is now normal size but several huge solid hematomas and sites of infection are still giving him a lot of pain. It has been a wake up call for him. He couldn't just carry on as normal and a wake up call for me as to how much I rely on him. We seem to have morphed into one, I am the brains and he is the legs of the operation!🤣
I can't believe I have to wash up… again. Also 3 loads of washing to bring in off the line. All this hosewiffery stuff is stopping me from gardening and painting!

I saw a mention of sunflowers. My son tried to grow tall sunflowers this year - didn't happen. He is near the border with South Yorkshire - the soil is sand - it will need heaps of manure to bring it anywhere near what he had on his allotment in West Bridgford. He has created a veg plot - bigger than the half allotment that he had. Potatoes have done quite well but beans are a disaster.
I tried to remove the stains on the two garments A gave to me. I used a vanish bar and scrubbed with a nail brush. I can still see tiny - I mean really tiny marks - they are out in the sun and I am hoping that will bleach them out.
I sewed the travelling rips on A's distressed shorts and tucked in the numerous pulls that she had in a top - caught them with a handbag.
The peg bag that I made for B & S is falling apart - they have had it quite a few years but do leave it out on the line - something I didn't do. I measured the hanger while I was there and drew a pattern today. I have made a peg bag - actually found some pvc fabric but not the teflon foot for my sewing machine. My new machine didn't complain - first item I have made on it. It is not up to my usual standard but will work for them for a while.
Bestie called here - collected her suitcase and the casual uniform trousers that I got for her yesterday. It was a flying visit as she had to dash off to a medical emergency of her daughter.
Just seen on the local news - someone has gone over the cliffs - a man in his 20s - so much mental health around these days.
4 out of 7 jobs on my list done.

A few cheery pictures. My side alley with some new plants - stone creatures are from late mil garden. The other two from yesterday's trip to Bolham Manor (NGS Scheme)
