@Florenceem - I am glad that you have changed church and will now get good support. I was sad to read of your friend’s loss of her son. You have both gone through so much 💐
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I hope all goes well for the celebration and memorial for M 💐
@GrannyKate - the holiday sounds lovely and I had to chuckle at your young DGS as you can’t beat tomatoes warm from the vine.
@vulpix- sounds like Mr V might need another check up. Fantastic work in the garden and well done for starting the painting of the bunk beds.
Having convinced Mr MV that charity shops need decent quality men’s clothing (I have no idea if this is true) he had a big clear out of his wardrobe. He has been retired for years so all his work suits, smart jackets and trousers are no longer required. Nor do most of them fit anymore. He didn’t get as far as doing any drawers but at least the first lot has gone to the CS. I took another bag of my things to the CS and we dropped two bags into the clothing bank. I washed out the fridge before putting the groceries away. It needs a more detailed clean at some point soon.Well done for all the inspiring decluttering, decorating, cleaning, gardening and organising. I hope you all have a productive week.

@Moorviews - I remember after DH died there were signs in a couple of CS asking for men's clothing and I took lots of his stuff. DD had already taken his many coats to a coat exchange event for the homeless near her. Your post prompted me to rethink the last clothing item I had, a really nice coat bought on holiday in S Africa, which has sat unworn in wardrobe for nearly 8 years. It is too big for me and its now in CS bag. I was ready to let it go. I had a bundle of those foam bra liners at back of drawer as I always take them out so those have been binned. No idea why I had kept them.
Half of holiday clothes washed, dried and put away. The coloureds are on the line and Sox's blankets are in washing machine. Next away trip is taking DGCs to DDs for 5 days in mid-August. I have bought all my August cards so will get those written as at least one is overseas. DGD2 is 18 so now half my 8 grandchildren are 'adults'.
DGCs are here until after lunch then back tomorrow night for the rest of the week. DS2 is away with work for a couple of days so as it is school holidays they will be with me most of the time. They are both tired from the travelling so probably won't do very much.
751 Bra liners binned
752 Late DH's coat in CS bag
I need to do banking and other paperwork but I will leave it a few days for my brain to get out of holiday mode. Sox slept next to me last night to keep an eye on me I guess but he has disappeared this morning. He will no doubt be back for his breakfast soon when he remembers I opened a tin of tuna. I have been given a bag of courgettes so I will slice, blanch and freeze most of those.

Sunday continued: we left at 14:55 & once we got off the IoD (there had been a triathlon) it was a steady journey to Kent. The roads were quite busy but traffic kept moving. We arrived 16:10, M’s sister G & her DH E had already arrived. My DH’s other niece S was hosting & DH’s DSis W & DBiL T were already there (as they live next door☺️) S’s DH C got back later as he was out playing with the brass band that he is a member of & DH’s nephew P & partner N turned up just before C as they had been visiting N’s family in Ireland - making 10 of us* The weather was perfect for sitting outside drinking & reminiscing about M & her parents (P & M) Lots of lovely stories 🥹 Pizza was ordered & S + C provided various salad bits & some potato wedges - so we all had plenty to eat. G & E were the first to leave as G was tired & the rest of us retired indoors when it got dark with P & N leaving soon after as they were both working Monday. Thelma 10 minutes later W & T went next door leaving us, S & C to chat a bit longer. C went to bed 23:00 & then DH & I sat up for another hour chatting with S.*S’s nephew T & fiancée M turned up & dropped off a washing machine - they are moving into their own home on Friday & need storage space until then ☺️
P.S the uncomfortable sofa bed is not so uncomfortable now as S has added a mattress topper 🥳 A restless night as it was so warm - bathroom visits at 02:00, 04:15 & 07:00 before getting up & dressed at 08:20. DH got up about 30 minutes later once I had made him a coffee using the magic tap 🙊 We sat outside in the sunshine (although it did cloud over) & then C & S cooked lots of bacon & the 4 of us + W & T had bacon sandwiches for breakfast. Just as we were finishing S’s DD Sh turned up with her DS R as they were getting ready for S, Sh & R to head off to a caravan park for a few days leaving their menfolk (C & D) to cat sit 🤣 We left at 11:05 dropped C off at the sm & were home by 12:25 - traffic was quite heavy but free flowing 😊 We have had a wonderful time & it is always lovely to see family 🥹 The weather here is warm & sunny with a forecast high of 26°C, low of 16°C & a light W wind.
I will come back later to catch up with the cheerleading later but meanwhile I wish you all a good day 😊

Tip run cancelled due to extreme temperatures expected. I understand it's health and safety but i'm still gutted.
I have a lovely new front door, the job was cancelled at 8am and then I received a message at 9 to say that they had found someone to cover the job so the door and workman arrived at 10 and were done by 12. OH went to get new keys cut for the DC's.
More stuff to donate after clearing out the coat racks and all of my recycling went today, thanks to my lovely neighbours.

It is general waste day tomorrow (every three weeks) and my neighbour has gone on holiday leaving her half filled bin and said [ can fill it, as long as I put it out.
A rabbit hutch past its best and rotted was taken apart and put in. A piece of insulation, two hanging baskets that are at least 10 years old and barely hanging together anymore.
Very happy to have managed to get rid of some of the bigger items.
Sold DD's old ice skates, they are being paid for tomorrow.

Phew, i feel like i have run a marathon. Took Mr V to A & E at 9am. A million miles to walk from car park to hospital. round hospital to pharmacy back to A & E back to car park a 3 say camel ride away. Mr V's leg is twice the size of the other, he has cellulitis to add to his list of ailments. I have sent him to bed with antibiotics and paracetamol and codene on board. I am so glad that I am able to drive again. It does make times like this easier.
What a lovely way to celebrate M. Mrs SD. I am sure she will be remembered at all your family gatherings.♥️
Florenceem, I don't have the words to give you any comfort, but I am thinking of you all.xxx
Well haven't you been busy bees. Declutering and ticking jobs off. I have done nothing today and don't intend to do anything either now. There is a nice upturned box over the wet paint in the sitting room so the cats keep off and the 4 bed boards propped up around the room. It will all be still there tomorrow so I am off for a lie down too.

Oh dear @vulpix , thinking of Mr V
I had three days to do stuff over the weekend. Apart from opening up the allotment shop, and chatting to people who dropped in for a chat, I spent the rest of it in front of the TV (some more decluttering of recordings too). I really do need to try harder to get myself going when I feel burnout. Once I'm under way, and have worked through a bit of a wall, I tend to then go on for ages.
Quizzy Mondays this evening. Might also do some charity paperwork for the annual accounts.
