2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Got VERY windy just after 2100, had to close all the upstairs windows as it was rattling the loft hatch. Then we had that oh so lovely musical accompaniment of ching ching ching as the tiles started sliding off the roof! There was some smashing as they hit in the yard. Nothing I can do about it, what can’t be cured must be endured!

@suzeesu2000 i hope not too much damage.
In looking for one thing i found a box of kitchen supplies i'd forgotten about , foil, cleaning things etc so need to bring it down from the shelf so I don't buy more. I thought i'd got through supplies quickly but then found i haven't got back up for face cream which is a first :)

It took me a while but I got moving after lunch. Inspired by having acquired the paint I thought I would try out a new configuration of the furniture in the dining room - got DS to help me - and thankfully it worked so we didn't have to move it all back. Decluttered and reorganised as I went along - the only thing leaving the house other some recycling will be 3 packs of no longer needed meds. There are a couple of pots and an ornament that I have a question mark over them - I kind of like them all but I am not sure there is anywhere to put them without squeezing them in somewhere.
I managed to force myself to leave the house for a walk when the rain was not too heavy.
Nice to hear that other people are also fans of "Arsensic" and similar colours. I can hardly wait to get it up on the walls - I might make a start on painting the dining room before I get the kitchen done.
@suzeesu2000 - hope you haven’t lost too many tiles 🙏

DSis & I watched last week’s The Voice U.K. - but haven’t watched the semi finals yet. We also watched SCD from 2 weeks ago + the results show. We agreed with the dance off result 😉 We then watched a film called “Fuze” which we both thoroughly enjoyed 😊 Back to the cheerleading 😉
oceanspirit, no need to apologise for not keeping up with reading the posts 😉 as the EDT is currently rivalling the Bullet Train for speed 😧 Great work dealing with admin 👏 Good luck moving to your new temporary home next week 🍀 Does that mean you are still looking for a new permanent home? Hopefully once you start doing the exercises consistently your knee will improve quickly so that you can resume driving 🙏
vulpix, what a great phrase 😊 Well done finishing the table cloth & good luck with the quilt once your fingers have recovered 🍀 Very curious about your “oddments” hats - would love to see a picture of a completed one 🙏 Getting exciting now with the plumber coming to firm up plans for your new bathroom 😃 Love the idea of you wearing sequiny clothes to Aldi 😉
GrannyKate, that seems rather an “odd” way to treat you as a customer 🤨 Can you speak to/contact the boss? Do you think Mr Sox has a girlfriend & that is why he is staying out all night 🤔 I see you have plenty to look forward to over the next couple of months 🥹
Blue_Doggy, what a wonderful way to look at owning books 🥹 so much more than words on paper ☺️ That is a lot of shelving - 36 yards 🤩
Willowtree222, good luck filling the skip on Monday 🍀
Florenceem, that matinee jacket is so cute ☺️ & I love the colour 😊
Brie, fingers crossed that the fence panel can be put back 🤞
Deb4, well done on almost completing your college project 👏 Excellent cleaning/tidying & decluttering 👏 Great work using up freezer contents 👏
ch3shirecat4, hope you weren’t too badly affected by storm Austin 🤞
weenancy, relieved to hear that the storm didn’t cause too much of an issue in your area 😮💨 but sorry to hear that other areas were not so lucky ☹️ Tornadoes sound so frightening especially if you don’t have a storm cellar 😱 The extraction wasn’t too bad apart from the numbing injection 😣
Great decluttering TC77 👏 Rather taken with the picture you painted of your cats racing around trying to see what was happening outside 😅
Willowtree222, great decluttering 👏
suzeesu2000, sorry to hear that the builders didn’t do as much work as you hoped 😞 I do hope that both you & DH don’t suffer any ill effects from your soakings 🤞Good luck getting your sewing jobs completed 🍀
Lovely cheerleading post StickyTheStickInsect ☺️ I am still really enjoying the ongoing conversation about books ☺️ I am keeping everything crossed that your DD gets her medication far more quickly than 2.5 years 🤞 That is an atrociously long time to wait for meds 😖
I have finished the cheerleading for posts dated the 23rd 🥳 so I will wish you all a good night. Sleep tight 😴MrsSD Awards: 💐 🙏💐💐🌟⭐️❤️💐💐⭐️💐❤️⭐️🎖️🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️😇🏅💐🌻💐💐🌻🥇⭐️⭐️🥇 💗 ⭐️

Morning all. Problem with builder is he is the boss having taken over his father's business. Mr Sox is currently doing zoomies from room to room knocking things over in his wake. He spent most of yesterday asleep on bed and after a trip out was in by 7 and settled for the night. He meowed continually at 2am to be let out then came back in at 5 demanding breakfast. No idea what he's cross about but a lot of zoomies and tail swishing. Laying in the hall glaring at me now. DD has been in A&E since yesterday afternoon with a friend of her daughters who fell off her horse - they have moved between departments all night but not admitted to a bed. Her parents live overseas so DD has stayed with her. Worst injury seems to be dislocated shoulder.
Right next job is sort France stuff out - a bit concerned but not being advised not to travel.

@suzeesu2000 I hope there's not too much damage.
@EnergyShifter It's a lovely colour - I would call it a sort of duck egg, vintage blue, do you think that's about right as I know that the colour rendition on my computer can be more than a bit out?
I think I've changed all clocks that have to be changed manually, the only ones I'm having difficulty with are mine and the cats' body clocks. We'll be unsettled for quite a while but usually not as long as when they go back the other way in 6 months!
It's still a bit breezy here near Swansea but not actually raining, she says in a whisper so as to not wake the rain gods again. Yesterday it rained all day and was rather blustery to say the least. I'll check for any damage later when I feel I am actually awake and can think straight - I'm not a morning person at the best of times.
One of today's jobs will be to get fuel for the car which will mean decluttering more money than it did a few months back.😱😱 I'm in the lucky position of having many petrol stations around so I check prices and decide where to go and whether I'm going to spend more driving to and from the station than I'll save on the petrol. I use this site: https://www.petrolprices.com/app/map if it helps anyone.
After that I'm decluttering more money at Mr L's. I've decided to buy a battery pruning chainsaw mainly to tackle the hedge. There are places where I can't get a hand pruning saw to work and hold the branch and I don't want to be dragging the electric cable of my sabre saw through the hedge with the added complication of making sure I don't try and cut through it as well.⚡⚡ So, if they've come in, a chainsaw, a charger and a battery will be entering the house. I will need a few more tools when I get started on the house renovations and I've been waiting for a battery multi tool to come back in. The charger and battery will fit that as well.
Hugs to those who would like them and love to you all. Dxx

Suzeesu😲 Yikes to roofing tiles flying about. Hope the damage isn't too bad.
Also yikes to your DGD's friend having to sit so long with a dislocated shoulder Granny Kate. I think wind makes cats go a bit mad. Same for kids when I worked at school!
We are enjoying extreme wind and rain until about 3pm. Surprisingly everyone turned out for the quiz last night. Almost £2,000 raised for the Altzheimers Society
Mrs SD , I will take a pic of the tiny scraps of wool hats when I have made some. I am using slightly larger scraps atm. I just thought I could do you a pic of the lap quilt as it's made from scraps of DGS's quilt.
DD1 flying to the Shetlands in the morning for work for 2 weeks. They have been having some wild weather.

Good luck with the roof @suzeesu2000 and I hope all is now OK at the hospital.
I've just had a phone call from an allotment neighbour to say the polycarbonate has gone from the greenhouse roof vent. Now to source some replacement - it must be possible!
The guests went at 7am this morning, so now deciding how to spend the day (other than using up the rest of the free energy. Dishwasher and washing machine are primed and ready to go!)
