So I am back in the groove, shoulder permitting. Absolutely fed up with watching things build up around me. Started to scrub the deck with a stiff long handled brush today. Only did a small portion this morning and another this afternoon. Reckon it will take about 9 days at this rate but the bit I have done does look a lot better. We have had an email from southern water asking us to be careful with water ( we havnt got a hose pipe ban in place at the moment) so I felt that a good scrubbing was the answer.

I did a sort/stock take of the chest freezer - threw out lots.
I also did the 4 drawers of my other freezer.
I started to sort out crates in the front of the garage but it was too hot so I gave that up. I did do a bit of weeding in the front garden.
I have started a bag of donations in my shopping trolley.
Cooling down with an ice lolly.

@Florenceem "On Monday a chap is comi@Green_hong with a brand new machine - setting it up and taking the other one away. They mentioned signing something when the machine is shown to be working. Is this something I have to do?"
You could perhaps limit what you sign to what has been shown to be working. e.g. if they show you stitch A and function B, but not C - F, then you might just write that you have seen A & B.
Even if it breaks thereafter, you are still protected by fitness for purpose rules.
@Green_hopeful interesting experiment. I was recently talking to someone about the approach the French take - they have external shutters like what you're creating. But their windows all open inwards, which I hadn't previously thought of!

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger yes I will try to sell as much as I can. It is such a shame as he loved riding. He had a Harley and changed it as no dealer on the island so getting a service was a pain. He changed it for a stunning turquoise Suzuki Marauder, big and noisy just like the Harley but easier to maintain. Was very sorry to see that go😢
@GrannyKate thankfully, mum wrote on the backs of most of the old pics so I had some sort of starting place. My cousin and I are currently trying to work out who 3 people are on a photo from 1955. We know it’s her granny & grandad standing next to our joint great uncle next to my granny then my aunt and uncle, but there are 3 people we can’t identify and it’s killing both of us🤣 sadly, there is no one from granny’s generation or her children’s generation living. On Ancestry, lots of lovely people post photos and share, it’s really friendly like that. And Facebook the same. I’ve been blessed with some great info.
Didn’t paint today as joints too ouchy. My new carpet cleaner came this morning so I tried it on the hall carpet but am not overjoyed. I shall give it another go tomorrow, might be me doing something wrong but, if not, it can go back.
Dinner for both was all freezer.
So glad you’ve got to sorting the sewing machine @Florenceem. As for signing anything, If it was me, I would write something like “at time of delivery, the date, and after engineer tested, machine appears to be in working order.” I would also ensure that there was a copy for me to keep as well. I am ultra cautious now after getting stung as we did on the stair lift.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx

After sorting my freezers out - I am setting myself a challenge. I will not buy any food for dinners. Of course I will still buy fruit, vegetables, biscuits, ice cream etc.
I am starting today with a dinner of smoked haddock - last of the bag. I have some chicken goujons defrosting in the fridge for tomorrow's dinner.
Decluttered - freezer food, dry goods, a dress and weeds.

Im back, we've had dinner in between my tidying spree. Which hadn't motivated me to continue the tidying 😂

I have had my dinner.
Found chicken curry, rice and a naan bread in the freezer for Saturday's dinner.
Made a pot of tea.
I have nearly finished knitting another gnome. I have lots of gnomes laying waiting to be sewn together. I will start the last one tonight that I am knitting then move on to another project.

Just woke up after falling asleep on settee for over 2 hours. Plumber came and moved pipes for new hall radiator and serviced boiler. My leg has been better today although it played up a bit when I sat on school chair for play. Took children to McD and then to DS2s to sleep after time in pool.
658 Cat collar to CS bag - he won't wear it
659 CC Bill paid and monthly banking done
660 Birthday cards done for niece to take home with her (she is having a very short sleepover tomorrow)
661-663 Two pairs of joggers and some PJs to CS bag
664 Plumbing work done - money will be decluttered but I can chase builder to come back now - I think I will take carpet up as quite a decent floor underneath. Plumber put it back as best he could but its bumpy and probably safer to get rid of it.
