just watched this. One of our usual declutterat methods - stop trying to do everything, focus on one type and gather everything together. Itsxalways good to revisit these ideas and seeing someon talk it throug is usefu I feel.
Think I will do this with my crockery, I have different stuff in different cupboards (and two kitchens) that are kind of 'every day' and 'when we have more people '. Nothing matches, I constantly look for serving dishes of sizes I don't have etc. So it all needs brought out and looked at I think

TC, a year! haha, surely just a couple of months?
Watched her Daisy, for the first 6 minutes. It made me realise I don't have a too much stuff problem, which is helpful in itself. I went down to the bone when we lived in a tiny house and haven't acquired more now we live in a bigger house, with the exception of furniture and one set of bedding and towels for an extra bedroom. For me these days it's about wearing stuff out and using stuff up and mostly not replacing it. There are always categories that niggle me. eg I know I bought 2 single duvet covers in haste and will never use them. They could go, in fact I will put them in the chazzer bag right now. Same for some flip flops I wore the other day, they cripple me since an operation on my foot so they can go.
In the house I can say what we have and where it is, with the sheds which are Mr V's domain I have no clue. I could safely say we have enough cable to circle the earth though.

Forgot to post this last night 🙊
Tuesday continued: DH’s motorcycle jacket ‘ponged’ a bit/lot so I asked DH to remove the armour & empty the pockets 🙊 It will be washed etc on Wednesday.
Dinner was bacon, egg, chips, beans & tomatoes - bit heavy but DH was more than happy 😉 Wudupa

Decluttered an old inhaler at the pharmacy and then moved my tutoring things ready to sort through as my Year 11 students have all left.
That left a free space so moved everything around and took my vitamins off the side and added them to an empty basket. The side is now clear. I combined some very low ones together again, freeing up more space. I am switching to a one or two does all rather than multiple bottles. Once these are finished, that will free up almost the full draw again.
I will attempt to sort tutoring items later but it might be tomorrow.

Wednesday is another cloudy but warm day with a forecast high of 26°C, a gentle WNW breeze & a low of 16°C. Our HH waste wheelie bin was not emptied 😠 I got up very late so the 1st thing I did was put DH’s motorcycle jacket in the wm with the last of the specialist washing liquid (fortunately we still have a full bottle) Once the wm has finished, I will add the waterproofing liquid, set the machine going & then join DH upstairs to start sorting out my Sky box issue. I have prepped as much as I can but am really not looking forward to it 😞 I will be brave 😉……………
Some time later….. first we tried online & wasted 25 minutes following all the instructions only to get to the end & be told to telephone 😠 We duly phoned & got an AI assistant that completely ignored our questions & kept telling us to go online - another 15 minutes wasted 😡 We then tried another number & got a human being 🥳🥳🥳 A very pleasant & helpful young man Jay who we talked to for 15 minutes & agreed a way forward. This involved making a £99 payment (will be refunded) - unfortunately there was a technical issue/glitch so we ended the call & Jay phoned back within 10 seconds. The payment went through but then he was unable to book a date so is having to escalate the request & will call back/text with a date. The upshot is that our request is in but we are in limbo until we get an installation date 😞 It is a good job my DH was on the call with me as I would have given up & become even more technophobic 😢
P.S. DH’s motorcycle jacket is out on the whirligig.

Lovely to see you Happy_Kitties 👋 Sorry to hear that your last hospital visit “threw up a nasty” 😢 I will keep you in my thoughts & am sending lots of good vibes & cwtches 🤗 I have checked my ‘magic notebook’ & have made an Executive Decision and am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ to add to your earlier one for Neutral Items (199/700) 😊
Florenceem, a busy day yesterday & good decluttering 👏 Good luck getting your sewing machine sorted 🍀
Floss, sound advice as usual 👏
suzeesu2000, excellent advice for Florenceem 👏 I am very impressed at how much of the decorating you have done especially taking into account time off due to the heatwave & looking after DH 👏 so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ & 💐 Also great work sorting out the downstairs loo 👏 Sorry to hear that your DH has been so unwell & that it has been exacerbated by the heat. Hopefully you are getting some cooler weather & DH is starting to recover 🙏
GrannyKate, a real pity that you have missed the thunderstorms & rain 😞 We are almost in the same boat but have been lucky enough to have had a little rain 😊 You have a busy few days ahead 😉 Have a lovely time in Crete - at least with our heatwave you have had some practice coping with the heat you will have in Crete 😉
TC77, congratulations on passing your 1,000 target for the end of June 🥳👏 Just 11 more & I will be awarding a gold star ☺️
I have caught up a little but cannot seem to concentrate 😞 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🤞See you later 👋

I decided to have a couple of hours of sorting tonight.
The tutoring pile has been either shredded, recycled or put away. I sorted through the sofa that had stuff just lay on it, cleared the side and then found that I could fit more on the bookshelf if I turned some of my crafting stuff a different way. The room looks a whole lot better already and I still need to do a trip into the loft as well. I am tempted to do a boot sale at a local event in August as I have so much stuff.
I have blankets that I plan to donate to the local animal rescue. I have also ordered space saving items. My new living room design will come with a lot of storage, which will ensure that everything is going to have a permanent home.
